Last week, M&S said its Rosie Huntington-Whiteley collection would include a “ContourWear” line with bonded panels and bum-lift technology to enhance shaping, and the £40 Firm Control All In One is already flying off the shelves – but is it worth it?
Here, Paige Pilgrim, 29, size 14, rates the five competing designs on price, comfort and fit.

Paige says: THIS really supports the lower part of your body.
My butt feels lifted and my thighs feel shapely.
But the structure and support are lacking in the chest area.
If you don’t wear a bra, you will have to constantly adjust your breasts.
Plus, it’s very sheer, so you’ll need a bra to cover yourself up, even with clothes on top.

Paige says: Even though it’s a little bit of a hassle to purchase this and it’s a little more expensive than I would like to spend, it’s absolutely worth it.
The structure is great for my breasts, I am a 32H and it provides the best support.
There is also a hole in the crotch, so you don’t have to undress completely when you need to go to the toilet.
Overall, I feel very comfortable and supported at the same time.

Primark£11

Paige says: I absolutely love it. It does all the boosting, shaping and holding you would expect from a more expensive brand and it only costs £11.
The only downside is that there is no hole in it for when you need to go to the toilet, which means you have to take everything out.
Otherwise this Primark model would definitely have been my favorite.

Paige says: While this is great for slimming my waist, I do find that it can become uncomfortable after a few hours.
Too bad there is no bra included.
Instead, you wear your bra underneath and panels from your armpit to the center of your chest support the sides of your bust.
This will give you double straps, which doesn’t look nice under your clothes.

Paige says: It feels like it provides good support around the buttocks and creates a well-defined waist.
It doesn’t feel as strong and shapely as other types, and it doesn’t give my breasts the structure and firmness they need throughout the day.
But for what you get, the price is great.
