I am a size 24 with an apron belly… trolls think I should consider surgery

A PLUS-SIZE fashionista has been given the brutal advice to undergo surgery to get rid of her ‘apron belly’.

Style lover Lindsey, who is a size 22/24, has a medical condition known as ‘apron belly’, also known as pannus stomach.

The term is used to describe a flabby belly or loose skin hanging from the abdominal area. This phenomenon usually (but not always) occurs after pregnancy or weight changes.

Although pannus stomach is not unique to plus size people, the condition can cause discomfort and even skin infections.

Lindsey, who regularly shares fashion-related content with her 228,000 fans on TikTok, is just one of many body positivity influencers raising awareness around the ‘mother apron’.

But despite the positive message and call for change, the dark-haired beauty was recently brutally trolled on her page after she shared a clip of herself trying on different jeans.

The video saw the fashion lover talk a little about her figure, describing her thighs as ”very thin” and that she had ”no butt” at all.

“Finding jeans is one of the hardest things to find when you have this body type,” Lindsey said before showing off some of her favorite denim pants.

These ranged from trendy flared jeans to skinny denim trousers, and from black jeans with a distressed hem at the bottom to a wide-flared khaki model.

While the influencer looked fantastic, some of the reactions on the platform were anything but kind.

Someone wondered if Lindsey had ever considered surgery, writing: “They have surgery for us girls with apron stomachs. Have you looked into it?

“I forget what it’s called, but I think you qualify. And it’s covered by insurance.”

Another wondered: “Does that apron belly go away when you lose weight or does it just stay that way even if you lose weight?”

A third commented: “Have you ever tried to get the surgery done through insurance because I have seen many cases where the abdominal wall caused the infections because of its size?

Luckily for the plus-size fashionista, who has previously been compared to Monsters Inc.’s Mike Wazowski, the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans joining in droves to support him.

“As someone with a belly and super short legs, I rarely wear jeans! I’m going to check out these brands,” fellow style lover Lindsey thanked for the haul.

“I love your confidence!” someone else chimed in, adding a heart to the end of their comment.
