I am a striking mother and like to dress my children in Gucci, it sets them up for success
A mother who outfits her two daughters in designer clothes believes the splash of cash will bring them success.
Jaelyn Cox, 30, loves seeing her little girls Valentina, four, and Valencia, 18 months, dressed from head to toe in expensive fashion brands and sees no problem.
The Glasgow dancer takes pride in looking after her family and thinks all the critics are just jealous of her.
She said: “I think buying designer stuff for your children makes them want a better life.
“Taking your children to nice restaurants, on good holidays and buying expensive clothes for them makes them more successful and ambitious.
“It shows them that you have to work hard to have nice things and that people treat you better when you wear designer clothes.”
Jaelyn also gave her four-year-old son a bank card to go shopping.
She wants to teach her girls financial independence and believes it is important that they understand the value of money.
Although it is unusual, she is convinced that it has paid off big time in giving little Valentina more responsibility.
She said: “My daughter is four and has her own savings account.
“I also give her one of my bank cards to use and I’ve set up Apple Pay on her phone.
“When we are shopping, she pays for her things with her phone via Apple Pay.
“She is very smart and likes it when I give her money and take her shopping.”
The mother also caused a stir by claiming that women should go on holiday and leave their children at home.
She likes to go out for a sunny break and finds it important to take good care of herself.
Jaelyn said: “Going on holiday with your kids is so stressful.
“You actually also need time for yourself and a short holiday of two or three days is good for mothers.
“I can’t get a babysitter for a week, so I just go on holiday for three days and my mother likes to watch it.
“I feel like a lot of people don’t separate their mother’s life from their personal life.
“Just because you’re a mother doesn’t mean you have to be boring and sit around the house and clean.”
