I am obsessed with Dettol and use a bottle a DAY, everyone can smell it on me
A CLEANING fanatic revealed she is so obsessed with Dettol she uses a whole bottle every day. Even during her pregnancy, she craved the smell.
Dee, a mother of two from Scotland, spends £120 a month on the disinfectant and regularly buys in bulk to keep her cupboards stocked.
And the best gift she ever received from a loved one was a basket full of Dettol.
She told Fabulous about her love for the product: “I love the smell and it spreads throughout the house, it’s amazing.
“People say they can smell my clothes and presence before I even come near them.
“I always get comments from the mailman and delivery people saying they can smell it before I open my front door.”
She added: “It’s gotten so bad that I’ll walk into a shop and, if they sell it, I can’t leave without buying a bottle.
“My boyfriend made me a huge basket as a gift with all sorts of bottles of different sizes and it’s the best gift I’ve ever received. It made me so happy.”
When Dee was pregnant with her youngest child, she craved the smell of Dettol, regularly filling the sink with the liquid and blowing boiling water through her house.
She also dipped a sponge in the product so she could sit on it and smell it.
She joked, “I thought you’re supposed to stop craving sweets once you have a baby?
“Maybe this is how my house will smell forever. It’s my entire personality.”
Dee has since gone viral on TikTok (@daackx) with fragments in which she talks about her Dettol obsession.
And it turns out she’s not alone: her videos have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
“Oh my, I’m obsessed with Dettol too,” one person admitted.
A second echoed: “I’m obsessed but my partner hates it. I craved it when I was pregnant too.”
Meanwhile, a third added: “I’m addicted to the smell. I f***ing love this s***!!! I order it online because it’s cheaper.”

Dettol was first invented in 1933 to help doctors protect the lives of mothers and babies in hospitals from infectious diseases.
Since then it has been used in many households as a cleaning agent.
And proud Dee’s home will certainly outdo the local residents when it comes to cleanliness.
She said: “I’m literally addicted to the stuff. I can’t go a day without mopping my floors with it.
“I clean absolutely everything in my house with it that I can. I crave the smell.”
She added: “After I’ve been working, I can’t wait to get home and fill the sink with hot water.
“And when I only have five bottles left, I panic and have to buy more.”
