I bought a £31,000 tiny house on Amazon – you ‘unfold’ and go, but I made a mistake
A YOUTUBER has revealed how he bought a £31,600 tiny house from Amazon but overlooked a small but crucial detail when ordering.
Nathan Graham, aka @Unspeakablewas impressed with how easy it was to build the property, despite it arriving without instructions.
Nathan, who made a name for himself with his gaming videos and hilarious online jokes, shared his honest opinion about the prefab house with his 18 million YouTube subscribers.
“I was a little worried about buying this thing because it had no reviews,” said the Texas YouTuber, who has a net worth of almost $30 million.
He explained that the purchase was an experiment to find out if it is possible to buy everything for a house from Amazon, including the house itself.
He described the house as “a puzzle” as his friends joined him in unfolding it.
“They even taped the house key to the door handle,” Nathan said.
The group was able to quickly decorate the house and began opening boxes of household items that they had also ordered from Amazon.
Furniture, food and toilet paper were among the necessities delivered, but they noticed a major problem when it was time to plug in their appliances.
“I’m trying to find a place to plug in the refrigerator, but there are no outlets,” Nathan said.
“How should we connect things, how should we cook food?” his friend replied.
Nathan rushed to check the product listing on Amazon and was shocked when it said electricity needed to be installed upon purchase.
“There is a toilet, but no plug,” he raged.
However, the gang was able to solve the problem by ordering a generator from, you guessed it, Amazon
A tour of the house showed it was spacious enough for an 80-inch TV in the bedroom, had a full shower and toilet and a kitchen.
Nathan and his friends were thrilled with the results and gathered to play a game in the dining room.
However, as they failed to install the sewage system before they felt comfortable, the waste from the toilet was flushed into the garden through a pipe at the back of the house.
Frequently asked questions about Tiny Homes
The Tiny House movement started in the US before gaining popularity in Britain.
What is a tiny house?
Tiny houses are small, fully equipped living spaces designed to help you live a more sustainable, off-grid lifestyle. Although they vary in size and shape, small homes typically have a capacity between 150 and 500 square feet, are made of durable materials, and are easier (and cheaper) to maintain than traditional brick homes.
Are tiny houses legal in Britain?
As long as the small house does not exceed 19.8 x 6.7 meters, it is defined as a caravan in UK law. That is why tiny houses are classified as legal additional living space.
Can you get a mortgage for a tiny house?
The small size and relatively low cost of small homes means that they generally do not qualify for a mortgage. However, there are plenty of options for taking out a loan to finance your dreams of the perfect, portable home.
Millions of people watched the video and wrote in the comments section that they were impressed by the budget-friendly home.
“I actually like this house. Looks very nice and spacious,” one person wrote.
‘I wish I could afford one. This is more beautiful than what we live in now,” another commented.
“You can literally buy anything from Amazon,” said a third.
“When I first saw the house I thought no one would really be able to live in it full-time, but once it was revealed that it was opening even further I was really surprised. This is cool,” another added.
