I bought a bag for $11 at a thrift store – I was stunned when I looked up the actual price on Google
A DESIGNER gem hidden from view took a customer’s visit to the thrift store to the next level.
She is living proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to achieve a chic and elegant look.
Reddit user Great escapist shared her thrift store score, saying it was the “second best” thrift store find of all time.
“I haven’t been to the thrift store in months,” she said.
“[I] bought this 3.1 Philip Lim handbag yesterday for $11.[It’s] probably my second best thrift store find of all time.”
“The only question now is, do I keep it and use it, or do I try to resell it?”
THE SEARCH FOR LESS
The high-end fashion brand 3.1 Philip Lim has prices of hundreds and even thousands of euros.
The Redditor searched for the bag online to see how much it would fetch.
“When I saw it, I thought, ‘Oh, a quality leather bag. Oh, it’s 3.1 Philip Lim. I looked it up on Google. Holy crap, it’s a $700 bag.'”
She said she decided to keep the accessory for herself.
“On eBay it’s only selling for $150 to $200 or I would have listed it already, lol,” she added.
This wasn’t the Redditor’s best find: she also revealed her best thrift store find.
“It was a pair of Manolo Blahnik quilted leather ballerina flats in my size for $4,” she said.
“They were separated on the racks, so I searched for the match for 10 minutes.
“My heart was pounding the whole time, lol.”
She added that on closer inspection, the new find could be the winner.
“But the more I think about it, the more I think this bag takes the cake,” she said.
Several Redditors voiced their opinions on the designer’s discovery.
“Definitely keep it,” someone wrote.[It] lasts forever and goes with many things.”
“Save it and enjoy the find,” added another.
“I just checked the price. Oh my goodness. That would pay for a year and a semester at the university I went to,” said a third.
“If you don’t have another beautiful black bag, keep this one. The craftsmanship looks amazing.”
