I bought a storage unit and turned it into my tiny home, people can’t believe how big it is
A HOMEOWNER told how she built a tiny house at the age of 60.
Anna shared that she converted a storage room into her permanent home because she always wanted to live in a small space.
She wrote on social media: “I have been dreaming of living very small for a long time.
“I designed the dimensions and layout of my little black cow (hut on wheels)… She is 9mx3m.
“When I was 60 and had no construction experience, I picked up the tools and completed the interior design myself, with my own two hands… two years later it is finished.”
The exterior of the storage unit was painted black and she used natural wood frames to hold the windows.
Inside she used a selection of different colours of wood to create her artistic ceiling.
Anna had furnished the little house with her favourite things and the living room and kitchen were decorated with black, red and natural wood for a cosy atmosphere.
The kitchen had a large fridge freezer, a large sink and a pantry.
She bought a brown leather loveseat that she crammed into the small front room, along with an armchair that she covered with a fur blanket and cushions to stay warm.
Although her house looked small from the outside, she had managed to build a bedroom for herself with a double bed and ample storage space.
The bathroom was also fully equipped with a toilet, sink and even a shower.
The post was a hit on the Facebook group, Small-scale livingwhere it got over 700 likes.
People were quick to respond to the comments and were impressed with her little house.

Frequently Asked Questions about Tiny Homes
The tiny house movement started in the United States and later became popular in the United Kingdom as well.
What is a tiny house?
Tiny houses are small, fully-equipped living spaces designed to facilitate a more sustainable, off-grid lifestyle. Though they vary in size and shape, tiny houses are typically between 150 and 500 square feet, made of sustainable materials, and are easier—and less expensive—to maintain than traditional brick and mortar homes.
Are tiny houses legal in the UK?
As long as the tiny house is no larger than 19.8m x 6.7m, it is defined as a caravan in UK law. Therefore, tiny houses are classed as legal additional dwelling accommodation.
Can you get a mortgage for a tiny house?
The small size and relatively low cost of tiny homes means that they are generally not eligible for a mortgage. However, there are plenty of options for getting a loan to finance your dreams of the perfect, portable home.
