METHODS TO SAVE MONEY

Reddit user Username111312 was on a mission to soothe her dry and oily combination skin in one shopping trip.

It appeared she had achieved her skin care goals and reduced her blemishes without spending a lot of money.

“I plan on sticking with this routine and trying it out. So far it’s been a week and I’m seeing great results compared to my old, non-existent skincare routine,” she said.

“I have noticed a huge reduction in redness and irritation, and less oil production at the end of the day because the skin is more consistently hydrated,” she continues.

“I wanted affordable, easy-to-purchase products that contained common skin care ingredients that are most searched for. Dollar Tree had them all.”

For each product, which delivered anti-aging results both morning and night, it cost her less than $7 in total. At $1.25 each, the products cost her less than $7.

One of her favorites was the Skin Nutrition Botanicals Vitamin C Serum.

She shared how the serum “protects skin from free radicals and pollutants during the day, while brightening and stimulating collagen production.”

She also swore by the Creme De Skin Creations Retinol Night Serum that she purchased.

The customer shared how the key ingredient kick-started cell renewal in the skin by “promoting both rapid exfoliation and the stimulation of collagen and elastin.”

A jar of Hyaluronic Acid from Global Beauty Care also helped against redness.

She was a fan of the cream’s ‘hydrating/skin-flexible and moisturizing barrier’.

Her pimples could also be washed away with her Just4U Oil-Free Acne Wash 2% Salicylic Acid.

She explained how BHA in the form of salicylic acid opens pores while exfoliating and stimulating the epidermis.

To give “special attention and care” to a “sensitive area that is often neglected,” she opts for this eye serum – Skin Nutritions Age Defy Dark Circles and Puffiness Serum.

She noted that most of the products that delivered amazing results also contained niacinamide, an ingredient known for boosting collagen and keeping skin hydrated.

At the end of her routine, she always makes sure to apply a mineral sunscreen with SPF 30+.

Rise and shine

If you want to follow along with this budget skin care guru, you can follow her morning routine, which involves her “gently” washing her face with a Dove Facial Cleansing Bar.

Make sure to pat your face dry with a clean microfiber cloth before applying the eye serum.

Her technique also involves applying a drop of vitamin C serum to her finger and spreading it over her five facial areas.

“Left cheek, right cheek, forehead, nose/chin, neck. Wait a moment for it to sink in,” she said.

All she needed to perform her method was a pea-sized amount of hyaluronic acid-infused moisturizer and her mineral sunscreen to apply to her face and neck.

REPEAT THAT

Her similar nighttime methods also worked quickly.

While she is in the shower or at the sink, she washes her face with Salicylic Acid Wash using a washcloth/pad.

Then she repeats her morning routine: she dries her face with a microfiber towel and then applies eye cream.

This time, she uses her retinol serum on her five facial zones and finishes with her hyaluronic acid cream on her face and neck.

Others were also impressed with the ‘good stuff’ she had found.

“I don’t think it’s necessary to spend a lot of money on skin care products. These seem to be reliable for basic care at least,” she said.

She noticed that her pimples not only appeared less often, but also disappeared faster.

She attributed this to the “introduction of retinol and niacinamide, also antioxidants,” into the affordable products.

“And sunscreen during the day, my face feels much cooler and less irritated. I can drive or sit in the sun with it comfortably!” she said.

After all, the main active ingredients were known to combat bacteria, inflammation and increased sebum production.
