That’s why mother Camille Wight decided to order children’s books for her daughter from budget online retailer Temu.

But little did she know that the seemingly innocent messages would hold a surprise. The customer later shared on TikTok the horror she experienced.

According to the brunette beauty, she read the lyrics to her daughter as the family drove to her parents’ house.

Every page of the “cute” book described animals, such as “caterpillar” and “rabbit.” But the story took a turn when Camille came to a page where the choice of language was unforgivable.

In the videothe mother told how her mouth dropped to the floor because instead of “rooster or hen or chicken” they had chosen the word “f*ck.”

Camille looked at her followers in amazement and claimed she then asked her partner to look at the book.

“And I understand that that’s the technical name,” the woman said, but she asked why “they chose that for that page.”

“Would you keep them?” the mother, who posts under the username @chaoswithcamillewanted to know what other parents would do in the same situation.

In the comments, one eagle-eyed TikTok user noted, “The fact that it says ‘horse’ next to it is what bothers me the most.”

Someone else said, “I think it was 100% intentional.”

However, this wasn’t the only misstep with the cheap purchase, as she also checked the rest of the contents.

“Then I think, hmm, are there any more that don’t add up?” Camille continued.

To her great surprise, the book contains Jungle tails The mother was greeted not by a raccoon, but by a raccoon.

“I like that one,” she chuckled.

Why is Temu so cheap?

TEMU came onto the scene in late 2022 and people on social media were raving about the low prices.

The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace. It is essentially an online shopping app where people interact directly with the retailer, while the app handles the shipping.

The hype surrounding the app is not entirely unjustified, as the app offers a wide range of products, including fashion, make-up, electronics and furniture.

According to a report of the U.S. House Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu is exploiting a loophole in the law that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the U.S.

This loophole is called the de minimis exception and means that goods worth up to $800 (£643) can be shipped to the US without being inspected or taxed by US customs.

Temu connects customers directly with manufacturers and only manages how the items are shipped to customers.

This means that Chinese suppliers can sell and ship their products directly to customers, without having to set up a global network of warehouses.

This allows them to save enormously on costs and ensures that the product itself is not reduced in price any further.

While many of the products you see on the Temu app come from brands with extensive, original collections, there are also many more counterfeit products from designer brands.

The Chinese retailer also called a sika deer a ‘Cervus Nippon’. Technically this is correct, but for a baby book it might be a bit too advanced.

The young mother, who has no fewer than 50,000 followers, suspected that the text had been ‘put into a translator’.

Despite the odd choice of words, she did say that the books were “so cute” and that she would “let” her daughter play with them.

The Sun has asked Temu for comment.

According to The Mirrora Temu spokesperson said: “Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

”Pending an assessment, we have removed the product in question from sale.

”Customer satisfaction is our top priority and customers can request a full refund for items that are not as described or defective.”
