I built a lighted privacy fence, people say it’s the best thing they’ve ever seen
A DIY SAVVY homeowner is impressed with her privacy wall with decorative panels and lighting.
She revealed that it was easy to make using supplies from her local hardware store.
Shavonne (@onceuponabungalow_diy) has almost 5,000 subscribers on YouTube, where she shares the renovation of her 1960s bungalow.
She unexpectedly went viral on YouTube Shorts with a 60-second clip showing her creating a privacy wall in her garden.
The impressive feature was detached from the existing wooden fence on the site.
Armed with a ladder and a drill, she installed a tall wooden fence before getting creative with how to make it look more striking.

“After digging the post three feet into the ground, we added some pressure-treated pine to the privacy wall,” she said.
“Next we wanted to frame our acrylic panels. For this we saw them at a 45 degree angle and scored them with a table saw.
“By doing this we were able to fit the wood pieces over the acrylic pieces to create the perfect fence.”
Shavonne and her partner attached pieces of pine wood to the back of the acrylic panels to make them stand out from the fencing.
Black acrylic panels with a decorative pattern were chosen.
“These panels came from our local hardware store and we have not added any stain or sealer to the wood yet,” she said.
“Then we added a planter.”
Shavonne perfected the privacy fence by opting for wired lighting instead of solar-powered lights.
Images of the end result showed the “beautiful” wooden privacy fence with three decorative panels hanging above a planter.
Two lights are installed between the acrylic panels to illuminate the garden at night.
