Go to the Facebook page DIY on a budgetCharlotte revealed how she created a beautiful modern guest bedroom – without the builders having to get involved.

Instead of tearing down walls, the clever woman decided to park a shepherd’s hut in her driveway and convert it into her guest room.

She wrote: “A spare bedroom built from scratch, and yes, it’s much cheaper than an extension.”

Charlotte showed off the exterior of the cabin, which was made with large wooden panels to give it a rustic look.

Inside, Charlotte had used pine wood to create the floors and walls of the interior, giving it a modern and cozy touch.

Walking through the front door you entered a hallway with a small breakfast table to the side.

When we entered the shepherd’s hut, there was a small kitchen equipped with a sink and fresh fruit so food could be prepared.

To the right of the kitchen was another door that gave access to the bathroom.

The black and white themed bathroom had a fully working shower, sink and toilet, which she later revealed was connected to her home’s electricity.

At the very end of the hut was a small bedroom with a double bed and storage underneath.

I quit my cleaning job and bought an old tool shed to turn into a small house. I furnished it with thrift store purchases and made a ‘terrace’ from pallets

People were impressed with the transformation and were quick to praise Charlotte for her hard work.

Charlotte added that you can check with your municipality to see if you can keep a hut in the driveway without permission, as each municipality has different rules.

The post quickly went viral on the Facebook group with more than 500 likes.
