I couldn’t afford £1.5k for a new front door so I gave it a makeover for under £50
A WOMAN has revealed she can’t afford to splash the cash on a new front door, so she decided to give hers a makeover herself.
JE Narrighi, originally from Great Britain, explained that after seeing her mother’s new front door, she wanted to give her some love.
But to save money, instead of breaking the bank on a new one, the DIYer used cheap buys from Amazon and Screwfix to transform hers from drab to fab.
Delighted with her door’s transformation, JE Narrighi took to social media to share a before and after of her door’s overhaul, leaving many open-mouthed.
Post on DIY on a budget officera private Facebook group with 2.2 million members, the DIY fan uploaded a get it from her front door prior to the makeover.
The white door was looking a bit tired and in desperate need of some personality.
As a result, JE Narrighi got some paint, a new door handle and even an upgraded mailbox to give the door a fresh look. new look.
Alongside her post, JE Narrighi wrote: “I decided to paint my door since my mum bought a new one for £1.5k and it looked cracking.
“I didn’t have that much money, so I gave mine a little makeover on a budget.”
The DIY fan admitted she used City Slicker paint from Frenchic, which cost her £21.49.
Not only does the gray paint add style to the door, but we’re sure it will get Mrs. Hinch’s seal of approval.
She also bought her chic black door handle for just £12.99 from Amazon.
And to make the mailbox a bit more modern, she also received a black mailbox from Screwfix, which only cost her € 13.99.
In total the makeover cost £48.47, as JE Narrighi beamed: “Pretty happy with the results for less than £50!”

In response, the DIYer explained: “It was very easy to turn just two screws.
“I never replaced the lock/cylinder because then I would have replaced the keys too, so I didn’t have any trouble with it. But it would be more difficult if you wanted to do that.”
