I Ditched My Foundation Thanks to a 10-Cent DIY Solution That Helps Me Age Reversely
A mother of four reveals how her 10p trick has helped her age backwards since ditching expensive skincare products.
Thuy Improta, in her thirties, has transformed her skin tone from “irritated and dry” to “soft” and supple.
She says her DIY solution means she no longer needs to wear foundation because it evens out her skin tone.
“I used to use expensive skin care products that left my skin irritated and dried out,” she wrote on Instagram.
“But one day, while traveling, I forgot my skin care products and didn’t use any for a week.
“Surprisingly, my skin improved tremendously.

“Then I realized that those products were actually the cause of my pimples.
“Since then I have been making my own skin care products, such as tallow cream, skin serum and rice water.”
Rice water is her new hero product – and Thuy says it’s her “favorite” homemade brew.
The self-proclaimed ‘busy mom’ ferments rice in water by soaking the grains until the water starts to turn cloudy as nutrients from the rice leach into it.
She then lets it ferment for a few days before freezing it.
She smears her face with the frozen rice water cubes every day. She gets a radiant complexion and doesn’t need to put on make-up to look perfect.
Thuy shared her trick on Instagram in a recent viral video in which she “refuses to keep her skincare secret a secret.”
Fermented rice water is packed with vitamins, minerals, amino acids AND antioxidants – including vitamins B, C and E – that nourish the skin.
In terms of evening out skin tone, the fermentation process enhances rice water’s ability to lighten dark spots and fight hyperpigmentation.
This is due to the presence of enzymes and other active ingredients.
