I don’t understand the reputation as the worst seaside resort in the UK – the beach is huge
IT has been called the UK’s “worst seaside resort”.
But Jev insisted he couldn’t see why Mablethorpe had such a bad reputation as he visited the Lincolnshire town for a video about his TikTok page.
The first stop was the boulevard, which has a go-kart track, an arcade with rides and a funfair, as well as stalls selling ice cream and donuts.
Then he walked to the boulevard, saying, “I can’t lie, the boulevard and the promenade actually look very nice here.
“The beaches are so wide!
“I don’t know if it’s because it’s low tide or if it’s always like this.”

Another advantage of this resort is that “there are no seagulls”. Jev noted that people can just “sit in peace and eat their fish and chips”.
“These places have a reputation for attracting the worst people in society, but I don’t get that feeling here,” Jev continues.
He added that it is “certainly less commercial” than other coastal towns, with a Gregg’s and a Co-op the only major chain stores there.
They also have a Heron Foods, which Jev says he “reviewed”, as well as “a few shops and a couple of nice cafes”.
“I went to a cafe called Coffee Lounge and they had a caramel latte and it was really good. I definitely recommend it,” he noted.
“It’s a bit tacky, of course, but you know, it’s got everything you could possibly want and there are no seagulls,” Jev concluded.
“I definitely recommend this place.
“The scenery here is truly beautiful. There is actually a lot to do here!”
And other people in the comments agreed with Jev’s positive assessment of the city.
“Mablethorpe is beautiful,” someone wrote.
“The beaches are beautiful.
“It has the beautiful Queens Park further down the beach, has a small pool, boat trips, a cafe, golf… it’s not tacky at all, it’s very clean.”

“I go there every weekend, caravan owner. I think it’s a great place,” grinned a third.
“What a mega beach!” someone else commented.
