A woman has revealed why she chose to dump her comfortable house to live in a caravan in a holiday park.
Katrina, 31, who lives in southern England, decided to upgrade her life in her £ 1,000 a month in March of this year and moved to a caravan with two bedrooms.
The business owner bought her ‘Mint Condition’ 2019 Willerby Skye Static Caravan downy for £ 26,000 and has a guaranteed pitch in a nine -year holiday park, so that the quarter of the ground was paid.
Katrina now says it is the ‘best she has ever done’ and says that she now pays half of what she was earlier and that her disposable income has now doubled.
She now pays £ 3,500 a year for her ground rent, including her pitch, access to a swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. The reimbursement also covers water, waste and waste.
Speaking in a video about her Tap Account, Katrina said: ‘It took half of what my old flat did and my quality of life is now much better. I can do these things that I could never have paid before.
‘I like to be different, I like to be alternative, I don’t want to follow what the social norm is. I am happy to break it and let people question.
“I understand that it is not for everyone, but living in this way is really for me.”

Because they are self -employed, Katrina said that getting a normal mortgage in bricks and mortar ‘was not an option for her.
And she understands that the value of her caravan, like a car, will write off over time and thinks she can only sell it for £ 3,000 when it comes to the end of the nine -year rent.
With the money she saves compared to renting her old flat, Katrina estimates that she will have more than enough to buy a brand new caravan when time comes.
Her pitch fee covers only 11 months of the year because she has chosen to live in a holiday park instead of a residential one.
For her a month off, she stays in a living house or is going to travel – because she is self -employed and can take her laptop with her.
Katrina said: ‘I really like it this way. I don’t have all the mess around me and life now feels that much easier.
‘After having lived in houses and flats all life, it is a shock for the system to actually have some disposable income and not have to work seven days a week to make ends meet.
‘I can’t believe how much my quality of life has changed since I moved to the caravan. Everything was cheaper than I thought it would be and I don’t have to work seven days a week.

‘I keep making a joke, I am now semi-retired, because that’s how it feels.
‘I think moving to a caravan is the best I have ever done. I no longer pay someone else’s mortgage. ‘
Katrina recently revealed how much she could spend in a typical month.
In addition to her pitching costs, including council tax, she bought two bottles of gas for £ 230, content insurance for £ 200 and WiFi for £ 70 per month.
That same month she spent £ 230 on food, £ 204 on DIY, £ 70 on her garden and £ 80 on gasoline.
Her caravan has two bedrooms, an office, a kitchen and living room and a bathroom, and she hopes that living there will help there to achieve a more ‘minimalist and simplistic life’.
Rage to the comments, people were inspired by the story of Katrina and hoped to do the same in the future.
One person said: ‘You do you, I think the social norm is changing and that is just a good thing. I don’t know how the younger generation will soon be able to buy a ‘normal house’! ‘

Another wrote: ‘Best life … feels free. No bricks or mortar !! ‘
A third said: ‘You will love being on vacation every day. Believe me, I know! ‘
However, others were more skeptical, as people said she would have done: ‘No investment for retirement. Site costs cost a fortune. You will spend just as much on soil rental and caravan financing ‘;
‘You could have buy a tent for £ 495 and saved even more money! These caravans are brutally cold in the winter, plus permanent living in it will ultimately drive you crazy ‘;
“You are being misled. Total waste of money. ‘
Katrina says that her quality of life is now ‘much better’ and Says that living in a holiday park ‘with so many benefits is supplied’, such as the use of the swimming pool and the sauna whenever she wants.
She says that there is a ‘really sweet’ community in the caravan park and became friends with her neighbors, although she admits that she can do ‘nothing naughty’ without notice.
In a recent video, her new lifestyle meant that she could spontaneously have a day off to go padleboarding.
For those who think about making the move themselves, Katrina says to first think about which area you would like to live in and then choose between residential and holiday parks.

Although they currently use the caravan as a holiday home as a holiday home within a period of 180 days, they hope to get a Spanish residence to live there full -time.
Before they put their mark on the house, the caravan contained boring interiors and a dirty outside.
Now it has two modern bedrooms, a kitchen that fits a breakfast bar, a living room with a television and a toilet.
