I found a secret zoo behind a pub – it’s dirt cheap and perfect to visit with kids

IT’S so hard to plan a fun day out during the school holidays without spending a fortune.

But one woman claims she has found a hidden gem in Kent, the perfect place for families to visit.

Sofie went to her TikTok page to share a video of her visit to The Fenn Bell Conservation Projectin Medway, Kent.

“Did you know this local pub in Kent exists? There’s a zoo behind it!” she wrote at the top of the video.

The video shows Sophie standing behind the pub, admiring the greenery and animals.

After their visit to the zoo they went to the pub for a traditional pub meal, Sophie opted for chips, chicken nuggets and baked beans.

“Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!” Sophie captioned the video.

“A nice country pub with a twist…”

Fenn Bell Zoo is open all year round from 10am to 5pm. Admission is £6 for children and £6.50 for adults.

You can book online in advance or pay on site.

And people who visited the Fenn Bell were immediately full of praise for the cheap and cozy location.

“I went on a date here and loved it!” wrote one person.

“Very fun for kids, and the staff are so nice,” added another.

“I love it here! Right on my doorstep,” said a third.

“I’ve been there several times. You can feed the animals and it’s a great place for kids. Adults love it.”

“I knew the owner Andy when he was at the other farm and he built enclosures there for his first rare animals,” wrote someone else.

As another added: “This is an amazing place, Andy has done a fantastic job and is totally committed to the animals and making sure we have a great experience.

“We must all support him and his family in their work.”

“I didn’t even know this existed,” said someone else.

“Daughter loves it,” another commented.

“She did something fun there twice for her birthdays, and also visited a nice little zoo for a fun day out,” someone else wrote.

Others said the location of the pub/zoo was perfect as it is close to a Haven park just down the road.

“It makes me happy when I see someone posting about this beautiful place. It’s handy that Kent Coast Haven is just around the corner,” one person wrote.

“I was literally around the corner from the holiday park on the Kent coast and as we were driving there we saw this!” added another.

“I was here with my daughter, she works at the Port, further down the road,” said a third.

“We had a lovely walk and a nice lunch.”

“It’s also close to Haven All Hallows,” said someone else.

“The animals are fun, there are some really noisy monkeys and lemurs.”
