I gave myself luscious locks and even started new hair growth thanks to an £8 purchase
A YOUNG woman has revealed how she promoted new hair growth with a cheap purchase.
Avrin took to social media to share her hair care tips and revealed how she got her hair thicker than ever.
The redheaded beauty showed off how she got lots of new hair growth around her hairline.
While it may have looked crazy, it was proof that her beauty trick worked and stimulated the growth of new hair while keeping the hair she already had thick.
“Remember, consistency is key in your hair growth journey,” she revealed.
In the clip, she showed off the dermaroller she used along her scalp to promote new hair growth.
The dermaroller has small microneedles that you gently roll over the scalp to increase blood flow to the area and promote new hair growth.
Although there are some risks associated with its use, many people have praised the results, including Avrin.
While Avrin used a slightly more expensive model of a dermaroller, you can buy them for a fraction of the price.
Amazon is currently selling a dermaroller for just £7.99, which has been given a glowing 4.2 out of five star rating by 3,000 people.
“Love my purchase, perfect for at home micro needling, highly recommended,” wrote one.
Another added: “This roller is excellent quality and easy to use.”
The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @avrinbrill with over 3 million views and 94,000 likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments and thank her for the advice.
One person wrote: “I need this.”
Another commented: “Yes!!! Dermatologist told me I would never grow my hair back (traction alopecia). I bought one and used rosemary but the dermatologist was wrong.”
Frequently asked questions about derma rolling
Derma rolling, also called microneedling, uses a device called a dermaroller, which contains hundreds of tiny needles. It is believed to stimulate hair growth by increasing blood flow to the scalp and stimulating collagen production. Here is a step-by-step guide to using a derma roller for hair, along with some possible risks:
1. Choose the right derma roller: – Select a dermaroller with needle lengths between 0.5mm and 1.5mm for the scalp. Shorter needles are less invasive, while longer needles can produce more significant results but also carry more risk.
2. Clean your scalp: – Wash your hair and scalp thoroughly with a gentle shampoo to remove dirt, oil or product build-up.
3. Disinfect the Dermaroller: – Soak the dermaroller in isopropyl alcohol for about 10 minutes to ensure it is properly disinfected.
4. Divide your hair: – Divide your hair into sections to ensure you cover the entire scalp evenly.
5. Start rolling: – Gently roll the dermaroller over your scalp using minimal pressure. Roll in multiple directions: vertical, horizontal and diagonal. Aim for 10-12 passes in each direction per section. – Focus on areas where thinning hair or hair loss is more prominent.
6. Aftercare: – Apply a soothing serum or oil, such as aloe vera or a specialized hair growth serum, to the treated areas. – Avoid washing your hair for at least 24 hours after the treatment to allow the scalp to heal.
7. Frequency: – Use the dermaroller once a week or as recommended by a healthcare professional. Excessive use can lead to irritation and damage.
Risks and Considerations
1. Infection: – If the dermaroller is not properly sterilized or if the scalp is not clean, there is a risk of infection. Make sure that both the device and your scalp are always clean before use.
2. Irritation and redness: – Microneedling can cause temporary redness, irritation and swelling. This is generally mild and should go away within a few days.
3. Bleeding: – Minor bleeding may occur, especially if you use longer needles. This should stop quickly, but if it persists, see a doctor.
4. Scars: – Misuse or excessive pressure can lead to scarring. Follow the guidelines carefully and avoid excessive use.
5. Allergic reactions: – Be careful when applying products after the treatment. Some serums or oils can cause allergic reactions on the newly treated scalp.
6. Pain: – Some discomfort is normal, but if you experience a lot of pain, you may be applying too much pressure or using needles that are too long.
7. Not suitable for everyone: – People with certain skin conditions, such as eczema, psoriasis or severe acne, should avoid derma rolling. Consult a healthcare provider if you have any concerns.
