a Reddit user described the problem in a post on the social media platform, saying that she used to have five roommates.

When a new baby girl moved in with her, she noticed that her skin and hair care products unexpectedly decreased.

SLUKE STEALER

The Redditor found herself restocking her beauty products more often than usual.

“About a month after my girlfriend moved out and another girl moved in, I noticed I was buying shampoo and conditioner more often than normal,” she says.

She emphasized that she could easily tell which things belonged to which roommate and that no one had asked her if she could borrow anything.

But eventually she noticed that some of her products were not closed properly, and she pays a lot of attention to that.

“I had a feeling that maybe it was the new girl who was using my stuff. She was using the smaller bathroom because it was right next to her room,” she said.

“My shampoo also has a very distinct smell. I was sure I could smell that smell when she was sitting next to me one evening.

“Then, while I was in my face cream again, I came up with a plan to catch the face cream fanatic.”

SWEET REVENGE

She replaced her face cream with a self-tanner formulated to gradually develop color, and waited for her roommate’s complexion to change.

“I checked the jar that I put back in its place in my basket of treats and it was definitely used,” she said.

“I watched the new girl’s face turn darker and orange over the next few weeks until she noticed it herself and stopped using my ‘face cream’.

“My shampoo and conditioner also remained untouched afterwards.”

She still feels content, even though it’s been so long.

“I’ve been out of the house for a while now, but every now and then I see the girl and bump into her. It always puts a smile on my face,” she wrote.

Other Redditors shared their own stories of roommate nightmares.

One of them said that she and her roommate both used their own purple shampoo for their blonde hair.

“I hadn’t used mine for a while and noticed that the supply was running out quickly. But he had his own supply, so why would he use mine?” she recalls.

When she tried it, she noticed that it turned her skin pink.

“I understood why he was using mine and that he had been using mine all along,” she said.

In revenge, “she squirted a little of his shampoo into my bottle, and sure enough, his hair had a noticeable pink tint.”

THE NOSE KNOWS

Another Redditor could tell his roommate had stolen by the smell.

“My roommate once suffered from dry hands and decided to use a bottle of lotion that my girlfriend had given me,” said one of them.

“He thought it was just hand lotion and didn’t realize it was a scented, girly body lotion.

“Well, I saw he had the bottle when I came into our room and he explained why he had it and I just started laughing.

“It was only then that he realized it was perfumed, and he used so much of it that the smell was strong. He smelled like my girlfriend for the rest of the day.”
