I had a solo marriage after I found out my fiancé was cheating on me right before the big day
A BRIDE who discovered her fiancé had cheated on her went ahead with his £35,000 wedding – without a groom.
Lindsay Slater celebrated her freedom with about 70 family members and friends.
They enjoyed a three-course meal and had speeches and photographs – with Lindsay in her £1,200 wedding dress – before a DJ party.
The 31-year-old lawyer even went on honeymoon to Crete with a friend.
Less than a week before they were due to marry in Mansfield, Notts, this month, suspicious Lindsay discovered her partner of 12 years had cheated on her.
She said: “I was upset – it was too late to back out of the wedding plans.

“Everyone was shocked, all that money had been spent.
“But there was a big part of me that thought, ‘I’m free.’
“I was surrounded by so much love, it really reminded me that I didn’t need him.
“I chose to spend the day with friends and family instead of sitting at home crying.”
Lindsay’s ex, 36, declined to comment but admitted he had been unfaithful.
