A recent trend is that more and more women are ditching eyelash extensions and heavy makeup in an attempt to embrace their natural beauty.

And Nevey Louise, 23, a fashionista and gym fanatic, is one of the women embracing her natural look.

Nevey posted on social media sharing before and after photos of her glow-down, leaving her followers open-mouthed.

The beauty fan posted a series of videos showing off her long, fake lashes, writing: “POV: You’ve been addicted to eyelash extensions since you were 16.”

But now that false lashes are out of fashion and the clean girl aesthetic is all the rage, Nevey decided to freshen up her look with a glow-down look, which many say is a good thing.

The trend of the ‘clean girl aesthetic’ is based on the idea that ‘less is more’.

It enhances natural beauty rather than covering it up. To achieve this look, women are increasingly opting for a radiant complexion rather than a full-coverage matte foundation. They are also ditching heavy lashes and opting for an approach that focuses primarily on skin care.

And it looks like Nevey took some inspiration from it, because seconds later we saw two videos in which she showed her eyes without eyelash extensions. She ditched her fake lashes and opted for a more natural look.

Alongside videos showing off her natural beauty, with Nevey wearing just a light lick of mascara on her natural lashes, she wrote: “And then you stopped.”

The brunette beauty confirmed that while she was getting eyelash extensions, she was left with “zero” lashes and had to give her lashes a rest.

‘My jaw literally dropped,’ people say after woman shares her ‘glow-up’ from ditching thick eyebrows and fake lashes — and they say she looks like ‘Molly Mae’

She explained: “My lashes aren’t naturally long. But the break does them so much good.”

But Nevey admitted she struggled when she first stopped getting eyelash extensions, adding: “I cried for a week at first.”

Biggest Beauty Flaws

Tara Ledden, beauty editor of Fabulous, shares the do’s and don’ts of beauty.

“No matter how much time and money you spend on your beauty routine, if you don’t get the basics right, everything else is wasted.

“There aren’t many things that are non-negotiable, but these are the biggest beauty mistakes that are sabotaging your regimen.”

  • Do not use SPF: Sun damage is the number one cause of premature skin aging, so if you want to keep your skin looking firm and radiant, sunscreen is essential.
  • Use of products whose expiration date has passed: At best, they are ineffective and do not deliver the results they promise, at worst they cause irritation and infection. The shelf life of beauty products varies – for example, mascara is usually good for 3-6 months, while lipstick is good for 9-18 months. Check the ‘POA’ symbol on the packaging (it looks like a jar and has a number inside it for how many months it is safe after opening. If you can’t remember when you opened your product, throw it out and start over, marking the month and year on the packaging with a permanent marker.
  • Not knowing your undertone: If you use makeup with the wrong undertones, it will never look natural, no matter how much you mix it! An easy trick to figure out if you have cool, warm, or neutral undertones is to check the veins on your wrist – if they look blue, you have cool undertones, if they look green, you have warm, and if they’re a mix, you have neutral.
  • Skip heat protectant: It may seem unnecessary, but just like sun damage to the skin, excessive heat is the most common cause of hair damage. So if you want shiny, healthy hair, or if you want to grow it longer, using a heat protection product is essential.
  • Not washing your face before bed: it’s as simple as this, if you don’t wash your face before you go to bed, whatever has been on your skin during the day will stay there longer, clogging your pores and drying out the surface. Any skincare you apply on top won’t be effective with a layer of dirt underneath, and you’ll probably end up with dirty pillows too – yuck!

We think Nevey looks gorgeous with and without lash extensions, but her latest glow-down treatment really brings out her natural beauty.

SOCIAL MEDIA USERS BEAM

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @nxveloisehas clearly caused quite a stir, as the video has quickly been viewed 123,700 times.

Social media users were stunned by Nevey’s transformation, with many expressing their opinions in the comments.

Eyelash Expert Reveals Mistakes That Could Be Harmful to Your Eyes

BEAUTY EXPERT Nouveau Lashes, part of the HD Brows brand, has revealed which habits can be harmful not only to your health, but also to your beauty.

1. Rub your eyes

Debbie Law, International Lash Trainer, said: “Although rubbing your eyes may seem harmless enough, rubbing too hard can thin the cornea, break blood vessels and result in bloodshot eyes and dark circles under the eyes.”

2. Excessive use of extensions

Be aware that overuse can lead to eye infections, allergic reactions and damage to your natural lashes.

3. Wearing mascara too often

Debbie said: “Most of the damage that occurs from wearing mascara comes from removing it. That’s why wearing mascara every day can cause your lashes to break and make removing makeup more difficult.”

4. How to remove false eyelashes

Not only can this cause you to lose your eyelashes, it can also damage the hair follicles, preventing them from growing back.
