A WOMAN has revealed she made the ultimate Temu fail when she decided to order a new calendar for herself.

Kate, who works in social media management, explained that she bought a new planner earlier this year so she could keep track of the days and dates.

However, Kate went into hysterics when the small calendar arrived – and not because of its small size.

Kate posted on social media giving her followers a glimpse into her online purchase. She shared the purchase with the caption ‘Temu fail’ and included laughing emojis.

The content creator then said, “Ultimate Temu FAIL. Let me know when you see it.”

Kate’s calendar runs from December 2023 to the end of 2024.

The mini calendar, which is small and portable, can currently be ordered from Temu for just 47p.

Kate opened the small black calendar, but was dismayed to see that although the numbers for the months and days were in English, the same was not true for the days of the week.

The Temu customer, who also ordered artificial flowers and an LED clock with her order, assumed the text was Chinese.

Kate didn’t know how to read the calendar anymore. She didn’t know whether it ran from Sunday to Saturday or from Monday to Sunday.

Kate ridiculed the gaffe, later writing, “I can’t read Chinese so I can’t figure out what day is what date lol.

“I have no idea what date is what day.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @categoriessocial mediahas clearly caused quite a stir, as the video has already been viewed no less than 194,100 times.

However, social media users questioned why Kate had ordered the calendar in the first place, with many commenting.

Why do you actually buy cheap junk from Temu?

Someone said: “Everything on Temu is a failure though.”

Kate replied, “I’ve bought some great stuff there too, but it’s been mixed.”

Another asked: “Why do you even buy cheap junk from Temu?”

Kate then confirmed: “It’s a bit of a matter of luck, but I just had to try!”

While a third commented: “I hadn’t even thought of that.”

Kate admitted her mistake, confessing, “Neither did I when I ordered it.”

Why is Temu so cheap?

TEMU came onto the scene in late 2022 and people on social media were raving about the low prices.

The company is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace. It is essentially an online shopping app where people interact directly with the retailer, while the app handles the shipping.

The hype surrounding the app is not entirely unjustified, as the app offers a wide range of products, including fashion, make-up, electronics and furniture.

According to a report of the U.S. House Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Temu is exploiting a loophole in the law that allows the company to ship duty-free goods directly to the U.S.

This loophole is called the de minimis exception and means that goods worth up to $800 (£643) can be shipped to the US without being inspected or taxed by US customs.

Temu connects customers directly with manufacturers and only manages how the items are shipped to customers.

This means that Chinese suppliers can sell and ship their products directly to customers, without having to set up a global network of warehouses.

This allows them to save enormously on costs and ensures that the product itself is not reduced in price any further.

While many of the products you see on the Temu app come from brands with extensive, original collections, there are also many more counterfeit products from designer brands.
