I had the worst haircut of my life at an expensive salon – I ran away crying and they still tried to charge me $300

A young woman cried her eyes out after spending $300 at an expensive salon, only to receive the worst haircut of her life.

Olivia Day, from New York, visited the exclusive salon recommended by her friends for a bold style upgrade. What she ended up with left thousands of people ‘shocked’.

She arrived at the salon with a soft bob with light layers and showed her stylist a photo of a perfectly cut hairdo that was her style inspiration.

But the stylist got the instructions completely wrong, as Olivia showed off an “incredible” end result with spiky, misshapen locks and a back and side view of roughly chopped layers.

‘It looks like I hacked it myself. “Are you kidding me?” she said in a video.

When the injured American asked her hairdresser if he could repair the cut, things only went from bad to worse. Every snip with his scissors only made her appearance worse.

Olivia demanded her money back and left the salon as quickly as she could, running home to try and salvage her hair by applying the bad layers herself.

“Luckily I’m a lesbian, so that softens the blow of losing my hair to Edward Scissorhands,” she joked, referring to the hit film starring Johnny Depp.

The New Yorker concluded the video with a much-improved style, saying she had gone from “rizz to schizz” by styling her own hair.

Olivia told FEMAIL that it was ‘quite a challenge’ to get rid of the awful style.

“But if I can get through that haircut, I can get through anything.”

Thousands of people reacted with shock to her dramatic revelation of the ‘brutal’ cut, with many saying they could not have been prepared for how bad it would be.

“I audibly gasped twice in this video,” one person said.

“My jaw dropped, what a filthy act he did to you,” agreed another.

“Girl, the front, I was like, maybe you can fix that, but the back and the sides…” a third added with several crying emojis.

Someone who visited the same salon told his own horror story.

‘OMG I’ve been there, this guy was arguing with his partner on the phone while he was angrily cutting my hair. And he was shuttling between three customers at once, we were all too scared to cry or leave.’

But most people agreed that Olivia had become her own ‘hero’ and that she had done a fantastic job of saving her style.

“I’m a hairstylist and I can’t believe it! But you made it,” said one.

‘The end result reminds me of the heartbreakers from the 90s, you guys did an amazing job! Whoever did that idiot needs to be fired immediately,’ added another.

One woman said that Olivia’s stunning features meant she could pull off any look, no matter how hideous.

‘A cheerful detail: you are so beautiful that any hairstyle suits you.’
