I had three babies in just ten months – and people ALWAYS ask the same question
A MOTHER had three babies in ten months – and thinks they are triplets.
The premature birth of daughter Ava at 29 weeks in December 2018 left the toddler with a disability, including cerebral palsy.
Parents Louise Bailey and Chris Goulden, both 34, were still reeling when she became pregnant with twins shortly after forgetting to take the pill.
Lucas and Elijah also arrived early, at 30 weeks in October 2019. Louise, from Dover, said of her brood: “They are all so amazing.”
“The best thing for me is to see how their relationships with each other develop.
“They are all friendly and attentive and very happy.
“Three babies in ten months wasn’t part of the plan at all. We just didn’t know what to do, we were so shocked.
“The first few years were just a blur; it was all about survival. It seemed like we were up with them all night long.
“About a year ago, things started to feel a little calmer, but it’s still very happy chaos.”
The family has just completed their first holiday, to Menorca, in the summer.
Louise said: “It was very difficult becoming a parent for the first time with a child with complex needs and caring for premature twins.
‘It was terrifying and very overwhelming.
“I was definitely more anxious than the average first-time mom.
“Now we’re just going to get on with it.”
