Gardening isn’t for everyone, especially if you don’t like all those creepy crawlies roaming free in their natural habitat.
And while a whopping 42 percent of Britons enjoy gardening, with 35 percent claiming it helps them relax, there are also those who don’t.
But if you are lucky enough to have a garden, maintaining it will be one of the highest priorities on your list.
And Jordanna Banks is one of them.
She took to her TikTok page called @jordanna.banksto express her fear of snails and insects.
However, she also discovered a clever gardening trick that helps her clean her patio, and many people are very happy that she shares this trick with them.
Jordanna, who regularly shares videos of her journey to transform her ‘council house into a home’, has revealed a trick to cleaning up the garden.
She captioned the video: “Garden trick for my girls who hate cleaning the garden.”
Jordanna filmed herself demonstrating the hack while commenting on the video.
She says, “Anyone who’s like me isn’t really a gardener. They hate cleaning the garden and they hate bugs. Here’s a little hack for you guys.”
The video shows her cleaning her patio, using a garbage bag, which is normally black, to tidy up her garden.
She says, “So you just put the garbage bag over your feet and sweep the branches into the garbage bag. It’s that simple, guys.
“This is the way forward, because I don’t touch snails and spiders.”
Jordanna also revealed in the comments that even with her gloves on, she “still wouldn’t touch a single bug.”
The video received over 396 likes and many took to the comments to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “I will definitely use this hack. I literally gag at anything garden related.”
Another added: “I’ll have to try this trick.”
A third said: “Dego, I’m going to try it. I hate bugs.”
While a fourth complimented her outdoor space, writing: “The garden looks absolutely beautiful NiceHard work pays off. Well done.”
How can I get social housing?
To apply for social housing, you must complete an application form and submit it to your municipality.
To find your municipality, you can simply use the municipality finder on the government website.
Once you have access to your municipality’s website, you will find guidelines there for completing your application.
After you register, you will likely be placed on a waiting list.
Please note that even if you are placed on the waiting list, this does not guarantee an offer of social housing.
Your local authority can also advise you on how to continue living in your current home and resolve any issues, such as problems with a private landlord or mortgage.
You are eligible for application for social housing if you are a British citizen living in the UK, provided you have not recently lived abroad.
Each municipality has its own local rules about who is eligible to be placed on the housing list for its area, but these rules are based on a system of ‘points’ or ‘bands’.
For example, you will probably be the first to be offered a home if you:
- are homeless
- living in cramped conditions
- have a medical condition that is aggravated by your current home
- trying to escape domestic violence
Once you are high enough on the municipality’s waiting list, you will be contacted as soon as a home becomes available.
In some municipalities you can submit an application from the age of 18, in other municipalities you can submit an application from the age of 16.
EU workers and their families and refugees may also be eligible.
You will be allocated social housing through a points system. Depending on your housing needs, you may be given low priority.
Once you are high enough on the waiting list, the municipality will contact you about available housing.
There is no limit to how long you will be on the waiting list.
