I hated my living room – until I made it look ‘completely different’ with B&M purchases
A woman has amazed social media users with her stunning living room makeover for a bargain price.
Facebook user Kelly Marie explained that she grew to hate her living room so much that she was afraid to enter it for months after she repainted it one day.
”Yesterday I woke up feeling deathly ill because it was cold in my living room all the time.
”A year ago I decided to ditch the grey and go for blue, and from the moment I did I regretted it.
“I haven’t been here in eight months,” she told the 2.2 million other members of the DIY on a Budget Official page.
Determined to give it a completely new look without spending a fortune, the financially savvy woman decided to visit various home furnishings stores in search of bargains.
In addition to visiting Home Bargains and competitor B&M, Kelly ordered a macramé wall decoration from online retailer Amazon.
Thanks to the spectacular glow-up, the walls went from dark blue to a cozy cream color. The jungle wallpaper at the bottom was also removed.
During the makeover, Kelly also removed the family photos on the wall and replaced them with beautiful hanging potted plants and other decorations.
The navy blue carpet in the middle, with a white coffee table on it, was replaced with a soft light gray one and a more modern wooden table with scented sticks.
While Kelly previously had a wallpaper with leaves, the interior design enthusiast decided to use real plants. This immediately makes the room look more welcoming and modern.
According to the woman, it took three coats of paint to remove the blue color, but it was well worth the effort.
Kelly wrote in the now viral post: ”I went to hardware stores and supermarkets for almost everything, even the paint.
“The only thing I bought online was the macrame wall hanging. This is from Amazon.
”And now it is fresh, warm and above all cozy.
“I’ve been sitting here watching TV all day and I love the end result.”
