In the post, the woman said she had built a fence, clearly to keep out curious neighbors and passersby.

Her front yard was beautiful, with a huge veranda, an egg chair and rattan furniture to relax on.

But of course it was difficult to really enjoy it when everyone could be there.

So the woman came up with a clever idea to give herself some privacy.

She already had a rug on her porch, but decided to use it for something else.

The black and white rug was spread out on the floor of her patio, but she had bought two extra ones to create a huge privacy wall.

“Look what I did with my Aldi rugs, I turned them into a privacy wall,” she said.

She had framed the rugs with wood so they would stand upright, and placed them on the side of her porch, which overlooked her neighbor’s yard.

This way she could enjoy some privacy without having to put up a real fence.

According to B&Q, a standard fence panel costs an average of £30, but Aldi’s outdoor mats cost just £12.99, saving her a pretty penny.

How high can a garden fence be?

Despite popular belief, a garden fence can be 100 metres high. For any fence higher than 2 metres, you need a permit.

No building permit is required for fences shorter than 2 metres.

There are some complications, however.

If you are considering installing a fence for your front garden, there are restrictions: fences along a driveway may be a maximum of 1 metre high.

You will need a building permit to put a trellis on a 2m fence.

If a plant you grow on the rack is longer than 2 meters, you do not need to apply for a permit.

“Very clever idea,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Very attractive.”

“Perfect, I love it,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Clever idea, looks beautiful.”
