NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation on the occasion of National Cadet Corps Day (NCC) and reflected on his personal experience as an NCC cadet. He remembered how his NCC experience had been “invaluable” in inculcating “discipline, leadership and service among the youth”.
“Today is a very special day. Today is NCC Day. As soon as we hear the name NCC, we think back to our school and college days. I have been an NCC cadet myself. Therefore, I can say with full confidence that the experience The experience I have gained from this is invaluable to me. NCC inculcates a sense of discipline, leadership and service in the youth,” he said in the 116th episode of ‘Mann ki baat’.
He also spoke about the contribution of Indian nationals in the South American country of Guyana, including President Irfan Ali, to the preservation and spread of Indian culture abroad.
“There is also a ‘Mini India’ in Guyana, thousands of kilometers away from India. About 180 years ago, people from India were brought to Guyana to work as laborers in the fields and other jobs. Today, people of Indian descent living in Guyana lead Guyana in every area of ​​politics, business, education and culture.
