I have made my own wedding centerpieces, almost exclusively using Dollar Tree purchases
A bride’s homemade, cost-saving centerpieces took center stage—and for good reason.
Instead of spending money on decorations, all she had to do was go to Dollar Tree.
Reddit user Angel shared how she created her own luxury centerpieces for less.
“Everything except the lights came from the Dollar Tree!” she said.
“I made nine total, which came to about $10 each,” she added.
In total it cost $102. Her supplies consisted of a roll of tulle and a glass cup.
She had also stocked up on a supply of ‘fake flowers/greenery’, which amounted to four or five pieces in total.
Even though her lamps didn’t come from a cheap store, she still saved money on them.
That’s because she found a pack of purple fairy lights on Amazon for $12, which also averages out to a dollar each.
She went through the steps she took to ensure her wedding had as much ‘wow’ factor as possible without it being too expensive.
“I glued the battery pack to the glass with a hot glue gun and then wrapped the tulle around the base to hide it,” she said.
“I also secured the fabric with the glue gun.”
She also described how the fabric can be lifted up when the battery needs to be replaced.
“I filled the cups with lights and then I put a bunch of fake flowers in them!” she said.
The DIYer shared photos of her centerpieces filled with white and purple flowers that lit up in a purple haze.
If you want to light up your own decorations, you can purchase a 12-pack of string lights on Amazon for $11.99.
Others were certainly impressed by her cunning skills.
“Boom – hit! Congratulations!” said one Redditor.
“Very beautiful,” another commented.
“Wow! Well done!” one user commented.
“They are truly beautiful!”, another praised the showpiece.
“Very cool! It reminds me of the planet Felucia in Star Wars,” another commented.
