Kylee Kintis is a licensed medical esthetician at Farmhouse Fresh and is certified in chemical peels, dermaplaning, lasers, and non-invasive body treatments.

In an interview with The US Sun, she shared how she tackles certain skin care concerns, what her anti-aging tips are and which beauty mistakes to avoid.

COMMON SKIN CARE PROBLEMS

As a beautician, Kintis treats “many skin care problems in the treatment room.”

“I’ve been struggling with rough skin texture lately, which is usually due to a lack of exfoliation,” she said.

She explained that exfoliation is the “most important part” of any skincare regimen to prevent buildup, breakouts and dull skin.

“Exfoliation also ensures that our other skin care products are properly absorbed into the skin,” she says.

She recommended exfoliating two to three times a week, but said it depends on “the strength of your exfoliant.”

FREE FACT

Kintis also shared her favorite beauty secrets that cost absolutely nothing.

“Who doesn’t love things we can do to improve our skin, especially when they’re free!” she said.

One of her favorite complimentary skin care practices is rest, which is “so important for the skin because our skin repairs and rejuvenates itself at night.”

I used to spend a lot of money on Sephora skincare products – my swaps are better for my skin and wallet, they’re all $25 or less (1)

“Getting enough sleep can also help combat the dark circles and puffiness we see in the morning,” she added.

Another tip she gives all her clients is to drink more water, because “a lack of hydration can lead to dull skin and increase the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”

Drinking enough water can help keep your skin looking radiant and plump.

COMMON SKIN CARE MYTHS

According to Kintis, it is a common misconception that you do not need to use sunscreen if you are not going outside or if it is cloudy.

UV rays penetrate windows and clouds, which “can lead to skin aging, pigmentation and a risk of skin cancer,” she says, which is why she recommends wearing SPF every day.

What is rosacea?

Kylee Kintis, an esthetician at Farmhouse Fresh, shared the telltale symptoms of rosacea and how to treat it.

There are many different factors that can trigger a rosacea flare-up.

Kintis advises checking your skin care products and environmental factors to determine what may be causing flare-ups and to reduce inflammation.

“Calming and soothing products help reduce redness and ensure the skin barrier remains healthy,” the woman says.

FarmHouse Fresh has a collection of products with matcha, such as the Matcha Purity Calm & Clear Purification Mask for $36.

“These are my favorites, they instantly calm the skin and reduce redness within days,” she said.

According to the skin care professional, other causes of redness and rosacea include heat, sunlight, stress and even spicy foods.

“Reducing exposure to these triggers can help calm rosacea,” she explains.

ANTI-AGING EXTRA

Kintis emphasized that “skincare products don’t have to be expensive to see results” and shared her best budget-friendly anti-aging products from Farmhouse Fresh.

Her favorite is FarmHouse Fresh’s Moon Dip Youthful Complexion’s Facial Mousse, $49, which is packed with “powerful ingredients,” “firming peptides” and “retinol to firm, soften and hydrate skin.”

According to Kintis, face masks are also a good choice to give the skin an extra anti-aging boost and reduce “wrinkles and sagging”.

The Mighty Tighty Turmeric & Banana Tightening Mask, $36, contains turmeric, coneflower, and banana, all of which are rich in antioxidants, provitamin A, carotenoids, and phenols.

As an “oily, acne-prone person,” one of her favorite products is FarmHouse Fresh’s C of Change Clinical Peel Pads, $59, which contain 2% salicylic acid that absorbs excess oil and treats blemishes.

“I have these products in my range every week because they break down dead skin cells and prevent pimples,” she says.

Another favorite product of hers is FarmHouse Fresh’s Watercress Hydration Cascade Moisturizer, $43.

She reminded beauty lovers that “oily skin needs hydration too.”

“Using an oil-free gel moisturizer is the perfect choice to provide light hydration so the skin doesn’t overproduce oil,” she explains.
