I hosted the Skincare Olympics at my home, creams won the gold and bronze medals

A thirty-year-old woman hosted an Olympic Skin Care Competition in her home, where creams took the top prize and won bronze.

She had high hopes for a popular anti-aging product, but it just missed out on third place.

Reddit user Omfgjustpickaname caused hilarity during the Olympic festivities with her own “Skincare Olympics”.

She shared in a after some of her top three beauty products and ranked them with gold, silver and bronze.

She weighed the pros and cons of each product and explained their ranking.

In an unexpected result, the gold and bronze winners were both cream-coloured, while the silver spot went to a trending top dog.

GOLD GAME

The first product to “win gold” was CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, $17.78.

“After being passed over for the 2020 Games” in favor of the brand’s moisturizing lotion, she joked that the drugstore purchase “was an incredible first this year.”

“Judges,” also known as herself, described the “contributions” as full, soft, soothing and “a consistent contender.”

She did deduct some points for pilling, where the product flakes or clumps a little.

According to the Redditor, the addition of the pump was “enough” to earn the hydrating cream the top spot.

“It just goes to show what you can achieve if you put in the effort every day,” she added.

I’m over 50 and get my skin care from Dollar Tree – my eye cream does double duty and I love a $30 dupe.

SILVER STRIKES

In second place was the Aquaphor Healing Ointment, $12.97 at Amazon.

She admitted it only “showed up” when it became part of her hitting routine, but it had a big impact.

“It quickly became a favorite when chapped lips were added to the events,” she added.

The Redditor said that “Aquaphor is often criticized for never showing up for training, but no one can deny that he’s reliable when needed.”

BRONZE BEAUTY

The bronze finish is for Tretinoin, a skin care product that many people use.

It is usually prescribed by a doctor and treats pimples, scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and sun damage.

“Tretinoin has been nicknamed the ‘gold standard,’ so expectations were high,” she admitted.

The unexpected ‘clearing’ of acne and the emergence of other skin problems ’caused a large number of points to be wiped out from the start.’

“The pressure was clearly too much for Tret, as Eczema was able to take over from behind,” she wrote.

Despite the product’s “poor performance,” she believes this is just the beginning “of what Tret can do.”

Though she ultimately fell short, the Reddit user said she’s looking forward to a “major improvement” at the 2028 Skincare Olympics.
