I left the planning of my wedding in real life to my husband. Don’t tell the bride
It is the bride’s privilege to have the final say when it comes to wedding planning.
However, one brave bride has handed over all control to her future husband, much to the shock of her followers.
Influencers on social media Martin and Bex announced their upcoming wedding for summer 2025, causing a stir online for their unique approach, inspired by the popular BBC Three series “Don’t Tell the Bride.”
In an unconventional twist typical of the famous series, Martin will be responsible for the entire planning of the wedding, with Bex staying completely out of it until they marry.
The announcement has already generated more than 5,000 reactions on social media, as fans of the couple debated their decision.
There is one aspect that fans seem to be divided over: should Martin let Bex choose her own wedding dress?
One of them commented: “Yes, let her choose the dress, the rest is up to you. The bride’s dress is the most important thing on such a special day, no jokes about that.”
Another supporter commented: “I think your intuition is spot on. Not only do I remember how happy I was to wear the dress I chose, but I also felt beautiful the entire day.
“You’re a nice guy for thinking like that, and I’m so happy for both of you 😊.”
Yet another noted, “Yes! If the dress isn’t right, the wedding doesn’t feel right.”
While most of the reactions were lighthearted, Martin felt compelled to address the trolls after they received a flood of hateful comments about their decision.
He wrote: “I have read so many comments, the only thing that bothers me is the amount of pure hateful comments and messages I get, there is no need for that.
“Honestly, there are some great opinions out there. I love them, I just assume the pure hate is coming from non-followers because they might not understand what we are like as a couple. I’m going to make her so happy and proud, I know I am.”
Martin is still undecided on whether he will choose the dress and is currently busy planning other aspects of their wedding, such as the venue, transportation and bridesmaids’ dresses, before making a decision.
He explained: “Some people obviously think we’re crazy, but we like to do things differently.
“And we LOVE to entertain people. It comes naturally to us to turn a normal situation upside down, that’s what we do.
“I think I’m going to do everything very well, my only concern is the dress.
Wedding Guest Etiquette
If you’re having trouble choosing a dress for wedding season, here are a few rules about what not to wear so you don’t get into trouble.
- According to tradition, wearing red to a wedding means you have slept with the groom.
- Informal clothing such as jeans and flip-flops should always be avoided.
- Any color that can be recognized as white or cream, even if it is not.
- Most will agree that your décolletage should be covered.
- Wearing white is absolutely taboo if you are not the bride.
“If I get that wrong, I’ll be in big trouble,” Martin said. “But it’s a fun challenge and a real test of confidence.”
The couple’s journey to the altar will be chronicled in a new series that promises plenty of surprises and touching moments.
They will publish content highlighting key aspects of the wedding, such as choosing dresses, venue, theme, and notifying bridesmaids and groomsmen.
