“I looked at Eric Bristow’s flat when he died, his downfall touched me hard”

Bobby George says that the sudden death of long -term drinks and Darts Pal Eric Bristow seven years ago “Hit Me Hard”.
And his new book describes the many escapades of the duo.

They met for the first time in the 1970s and became oche rivals – they disputed the world of 1980 Darts Championship Final – but also “very good friends”.
According to George, the five-fold world champion “would be good if gold would be about 10 or 10.30 am-this, he would become a complete one *** hole as soon as he had been drunk too much”.

Bristow – One of the greatest pitchers of the sport – died on April 5, 2018 from a heart attack before a Premier League event in Liverpool. He was 60.

That night George stayed in a Stoke Pub run by Barry Birch, the former driver of Bristow.
And he even looked at “Eric’s flat” less than 200 meters away when he learned the tragic news.
George said: ‘I could not believe the sudden death.
“I couldn’t assume that I could see his flat – the same flat that he had left only a few hours earlier – because I tried to record the tragic news.
“What were the chances of it? I was with him, said goodbye, stoke Stoke and look out of a window at his flat while he was standing next to his former driver?
“We both needed a stiff drink that night. They think that Eric’s heart must have stopped before he hit the ground because there was no blood.
“In his diary, he apparently wrote that he had had bad chest pain.
“Bloody Hell, if that was the case, why didn’t he go to the doctors or the hospital and did he get it sorted?
‘Eric knowing, he probably thought:’ I’ll be a lot of it Guinness In my neck, that will come from the pain ‘.
“Everyone who knew him was aware that he did not exactly led a healthy lifestyle.

“As long as I knew him, he was a heavy smoker, who always rolled his.

“I would like to say that that was an isolated incident, but it wasn’t.
“That is how he was, always in trouble. But somehow always succeeds in getting it out.”
