I love Molly-Mae’s art but I didn’t want to pay £1.4k for it so I made it myself for £65
IT was a custom work of art for the home she shared with her ex-fiancé Tommy Fury.
But one woman who fell in love with the one-of-a-kind Davo Howarth piece Molly-Mae bought for £1,400 has told how she made her own version for just £65.
Erica took over TikTok to explain how she made the enormous canvas for her living room wall herself.
“We really wanted something that would fill the space above the couch,” she said.
“But when you look at the actual prices of that print… I wasn’t going to pay that!
“So my friend and I recreated it ourselves.”
First they went to Hobbycraft to get a canvas and all the supplies.
“We ended up going with 150 by 100 behind the couch because we really wanted it to fill the wall and it was huge,” she continued.
Erica also bought some texture paste on Amazon and used a sponge to ‘dab’ it onto the canvas.
“It was so simple,” she said.
“It was so easy to do.
“Honestly, you don’t need any artistic skills for this, don’t let it scare you!”
She bought 10cm wooden letters online and spray painted them completely white, then measured the exact spot on the canvas where she wanted them.
“We placed the word ‘it’ a little differently than in the photo so it would fit better on the canvas,” Erica added.
“Then we just glued it on and it was so easy!”
Erica told Fabulous Online that she spent around £65 in total on the art project, with the canvas being the most expensive part at £35.
The rest went to structure paste, letters, glue, spray paint and masking tape.
“Definitely much cheaper than if you were to buy a painting of that size,” Erica added.
