I made £267 on Vinted in just over a week by following a simple tip – it’s madness
SELLING used items such as clothing has become a common practice, with many sites such as Vinted, Depop and eBay now available.
People have even sold hundreds to thousands of euros worth of stuff and shared their handy tricks online.
One of these people is Mya Turner, who posts under the username @myalturner3 on the platform.
She explained that she had re-posted everything on her Vinted page nine days before TikTok launched, and that her sales figures had completely changed as a result.
“I added keywords, I changed the background [in the pictures] on a bright white background – the items were the same [but] “The items have been reduced,” Mya said.
Maya relisted 60 items during that time and sold 18 of them. One item was returned to her.

She said the 60 items she listed raised a total of £655, of which she sold £320.
“I ended up selling all the items for £267, so that includes £53 in lower bids.
“The best thing I ever sold were the two coats I hung up.
“One cost £55 and the other £85.”
She said her friend helped her create a spreadsheet so she could keep track of everything she sold.
Mya was asked about Vinted’s policy on retraction and she said it was allowed “as long as you remove the items first and relist them 5 minutes later.”
She adds that she finds it best to upload around 5pm and take new photos for the renewed listings.
On Vinted’s reupload query page, stands: “A button to Re-upload Your item will appear in the conversation screen if the buyer canceled the order before it was shipped.
This option is only available in this situation, but it will instantly restore your listing with the original photos and information (which you can also edit or update).
“If you sold an item but it was returned, please upload a new listing.
“Always make sure you have the item in your possession before uploading the new listing.”
They add: “You may resell recent purchases from Vinted. Make sure you take new photos for the listing, as you may not use photos from other members.”
Do I have to pay tax on items I sell on Vinted?
FAST tax facts from the Vinted team…
- The only time an item is taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is a profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then you can use your £3,000 tax-free capital gains allowance to offset it.
- Generally, only business sellers who trade for profit (buying goods with the intention of selling them for more than they paid for them) are required to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can take advantage of a £1,000 tax-free allowance, which has been in place since 2017.

In the comments, people couldn’t believe the hack and said they would try it.
One person said: “I relisted almost all of my stuff yesterday and I’ve sold 8 things so far. The stuff is definitely getting more views and favorites since I included keywords in the description this time. [heart eyes emoji].”
“Ooooh, I could do that!” wrote a second.
Someone else wrote: “This is great info. I have Vinted too and it’s been slow lately.”
A fourth commented: “My weekend plans are sorted [grinning emoji].”
