I made a baubles wreath in minutes – all you need is an old coat hanger

IT’S almost time to dust off your Christmas decorations and put up your tree, or maybe you’ve already done that?

Either way, you don’t have to spend a lot of money to create a festive space this winter; all you need is an old coat hanger.

Make queen Sarah Davis recently took to social media to show off her hack and the result looks mega expensive, despite only costing a few euros.

So, what do you need to make the DIY wreath?

A wire clothes hanger, which you might find at the back of your wardrobe, and some baubles – you can use the leftover baubles from your tree or buy a multipack from stores like B&M and The Range for just £5.

Start by carefully splitting the coat hanger and bending it into a circle. Sara wrapped it around her waist to get the right shape, but you could just look at it.

Then simply thread your Christmas baubles onto it.

“[There’s] no pattern or order, you can just put them on randomly in whatever sizes and colors you like,” Sara explained on Instagram.

If you buy a multi-pack of baubles like Sara, they will all be the same color, or you can mix and match them for something more eccentric – the choice is all yours.

Once the wreath is full of baubles, twist the top of the hanger back together and secure it with some tape.

You can even add a large bow to the top for some extra festive fun.

“And there you have it! Isn’t that the best Christmas wreath EVER?!

It’s so cheap, quick and easy to make, but look how fantastic it is – I’m totally obsessed, and it’s a bold claim, but this might be one of my favorite Christmas crafts ever,” Sara added .

Christmas DIY fans also loved the simple yet effective idea on Instagram.

One commented on the clip: “I did this last year and it looked great on my front door.”

“I love this hack, I’ve been doing this for years. You can wrap tinsel around the wire to make it look fuller,” said a second.

And a third chimed in: “I love this! Defo is doing one this year.”

“You inspired me to try it this year. Yours looks so good, let’s see,” wrote another.

Other Christmas DIY Hacks

If you’re being thrifty this holiday season, there are plenty of other money-saving hacks to decorate your home.

Last year, DIY expert Alex Lawson showed her handy trick for creating the perfect DIY garland in your doorway using a tension rod.

She said: “You get a tension rod or shower rod, place it between where you want to hang it, then string your garland around and set it to the desired height.

“I got this tension rod from the bathroom department at Homebase and everything else I already had.”

After some extra fluffing, the garland looked perfect and like it was made by a professional.

Prices for tie rods in Homebase start from just £2.50, making it a very affordable hack.

And social media users loved it too, with Alex’s clip racking up more than 116,000 views.

One said: “Okay, I want to take one of our doors off its hinges so I can do this.”

A second wrote: “Absolutely beautiful, it creates such an impact.”

“This is amazing, I’m definitely going to do this,” gushed a third.
