I made a Christmas garland for my house with a £3 purchase from B&M – it takes seconds
CHRISTMAS is just around the corner, and while decorating your home can be fun, it can also be expensive.
However, one clever woman revealed how to make a beautiful bow garland for just £3 with a bargain B&M purchase.
The woman said all you have to do is pick up a pack of velvet bows and glue them together to make the hanging decoration.
The bows come in a pack of six in different colors, from red, pink to green.
On her @at_the_mcgillens account, she wrote: “They are everywhere this Christmas, and this has got to be the easiest bow garland hack out there.
“I picked up these bows in B&M, cut the packets off and used my glue gun to glue them together.
“Two packs made one big garland to hang over my fireplace, and I absolutely love it.”
Many people were very impressed with her DIY creation and said they wanted to copy it in their own homes.
One said: “Just bought this today, planning to do the same.”
Another added: “I got my bows today, can’t wait to make my garland tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, someone said: “I made the exact same thing.”
It’s not the only pendulum trick making the rounds.
A home decor expert has shared her DIY party hack that will brighten up any home.
The decor fan demonstrated the rental-friendly trick for her followers.
In her video,Wendy(@thekwendyhome) explained: “Here’s how to hang your garland without drilling holes.”
The Instagrammer showed her audience how to create a “damage-free garland by hanging it with a shower curtain rod.”
For her first step, Wendy grabbed an old shower curtain rod and pulled it into a doorway at chest height.
She said: “I took the shower curtain from our guest bathroom and tried it out myself.
“It’s held up really well. I even put on my heavy Norfolk pine bunting and it didn’t budge.”
She advised viewers: “Drap and wrap your shower rod with your crank.”
Wendy continued: “You may need two for a fuller look, don’t forget to fluff your bunting.”
She also wove twinkling lights into the DIY setup to add a festive glow to her home.
How to Save Money on Christmas Shopping
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to save money on your Christmas shopping.
Limit the number of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.
Instead, why not host a Secret Santa among your inner circles so you don’t have to buy multiple presents?
Plan ahead – if you have the stamina and the budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for next year during the January sales.
Make sure you shop for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you don’t spend more than you need to.
Buy on sale on Boxing Day – some retailers are starting their main Christmas sales early so you can actually score a bargain before December 25th.
Delivery may cost you a little more, but it could be worth it if the savings are significant.
Shop through outlet stores – you can save a lot of money by shopping through outlet stores such as Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.
They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually the wear and tear is minor.
