“I was able to create my own version of the sold-out viral bow cardi for almost 80 percent less using items from Poundland.”

To create her fashion dupe, she grabbed two sets of beautiful velvet bows in green and red to clip on the buttons.

Becky continued: “The great thing about these bows is that they can be snapped on, which I think will also make it easier to wash them rather than gluing them on.

“In total for the cardi and free ties it comes to £14.”

This represents a big saving compared to H&M’s version, which set customers back £44.99.

Speaking about her two sets of bows, Becky added: “I couldn’t decide which color I like, but because I can clip it on and cut it off, I have a choice between green or red.

“Let me know in the comments which color you like, or if you will try this.”

Shoppers were very impressed with her handbag-friendly fashion hack and flocked to the comments section to share their praise.

How to look chic on a budget

Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger and beauty journalist Samantha Silver revealed how to spruce up your outfits without spending hundreds of pounds.

  1. Never spend money on designer denim: River Island ”always has such a great selection of fashion-forward jeans that follow current trends”. The retailer offers a range of sizes from UK 6 – UK 18 and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
  2. There are no rules for jewelry: ”Buy something at a car boot sale or charity shop, browse Vinted and eBay, buy something from the clothes section in your local supermarket when you go to the food store or have a look in the big clothes stores.”
  3. Do not forget about the beloved sites: With an increasing number of second-hand sites, such as Vinted and Depop, there is no longer an excuse not to buy (or sell) second-hand clothing items. For example, Gemma managed to get her hands on some chic Chanel sunglasses for just £17.

The H&M website states: “Carigan made of soft rib knit with some wool.

“Round neckline with ribbed trim, dropped shoulders and long sleeves.

“Hidden press studs and decorative bows in an accent color at the front.”

The store suggested completing the look with leather pants and ballet flats.
