A mother thought she had found the man of her dreams only to discover to her horror that he had been having a sordid affair with his boss for years.

Maisie Lewis, from Woking, Surrey, met her future husband through a mutual friend and their relationship lasted eight years.

But disaster struck when his cruel lies came to light during a romantic dinner on Maisie’s birthday.

The 43-year-old told The Sun: “I moved to Istanbul as a nanny and found a job in Turkey.

“I moved in with a friend and was nagging about men. She introduced me to someone.

“The first time I met him, I went back and told my girlfriend that I thought he was gay. She told me it was just a different culture thing, so I tried it.

“Then I said to my girlfriend again, ‘He’s gay, he played Spice Girls in the car,’ but she said he wasn’t.”

After convincing herself to give the relationship a chance, Maisie eventually moved in with him.

But from the beginning of their romance, there were warning signs, according to the mother.

“One thing that was strange is that we never went on holiday alone, there were always friends. When we went to Italy, he took his friend to the third velodrome,” she said.

“Even when we went to Greece, he insisted that we go to where my parents were. It was just a bit weird.

“He also loved shopping and always bought me designer bags and shoes.”

ROMANTIC ‘BUSINESS TRIPS’

A big warning sign was the number of times he went on business trips with his boss, who was also married.

“He went on a business trip with his boss and one day he posted a picture of two whiskey glasses at sunset,” Maisie explains.

My husband of 4 years died a few days after I gave birth. When the police gave me his phone, it was one devastating blow after another.

“I thought it was a whole couple thing. They traveled together all the time.

“I think they were just vacations, because they always fell on the weekend. I thought to myself: why shouldn’t a business trip be during the week?

“I got along well with his boss and he took us skiing a few times, but I hated it so I stayed with the boss’s wife when they went skiing together.

“I think she knew what her husband was doing, but she didn’t care. I think she did it for the money.”

Their sex life was also disappointing, according to the former nanny, which raised doubts.

She said, “We did have sex, but he was very boring and dull.

“I bought us some sex toys and he said they were disgusting. He didn’t like talking about sex, it was a big taboo for him.

“We did have sex, but not often and not a lot. He wasn’t very adventurous in the bedroom, which was annoying, because I am.”

Despite their problems, Maisie insisted they were ‘best friends’ and rarely argued.

Eventually Maisie wanted to move back to the UK and settle down. Her boyfriend proposed to her, promising that he would come with her to Britain.

The couple married in Guildford and he told her a barrage of lies about transferring his work to The London Clinic.

A few months later, the newlyweds also celebrated a traditional wedding in Turkey, with their family and friends.

I’ve never been the type to make a scene in public, but I lost my patience and threw my glass of red wine all over his crisp white shirt and stormed out.

Girl

But shortly after the extravagant ceremony, Maisie began to worry that he had no intention of moving at all.

Her fears came true two years later, when the couple were still together from a distance and trying to make it work.

“He kept putting me off. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that was caused by the stress of lying all the time,” she explained.

“He kept trying to convince me that he would come over.

“In May he took me to Portugal for my birthday, and on the night of my birthday he took me to a curry restaurant and I asked him, ‘When are you coming over?’

“He asked me why I couldn’t sort it out while he lived in Turkey and sent me money, but I didn’t need him to take care of me.

“He said, ‘But my boss needs me,’ and I said, ‘Well, it’s not like you’re fucking your boss, right?’

“And his face fell and I said, ‘Are you serious, you’re fucking your boss?’ and he just didn’t say anything.

“I’ve never been one to make a scene in public, but I lost my temper, threw my glass of red wine all over his crisp white shirt and stormed off.”

The next day they traveled home and had an awkward car ride from the airport with Maisie’s mother.

“She asked how our vacation had been and I said, ‘Well, it turns out he’s gay and he’s been yelling at his boss and we’re getting divorced.’

“He was so shy that he didn’t want to tell my mother anything. He packed his things and flew back to Istanbul the next day. I took him to the airport and that was the last time I ever saw him.

“I sent him the divorce papers, and it all happened pretty quickly. He didn’t contact me, didn’t apologize. He just signed the papers and sent them back.

“I have blocked him on all social media and his number.

“I think he did it because in Turkey it’s a status issue and there are incentives to get married. I think he did it for his parents to prove that he was settled.”

‘HEARTBROKEN’

Maisie said the couple had been in a happy relationship for years, but news of his brutal affair turned her world upside down.

“We had such a good friendship, we got along really well, we never fought. He was like my best friend,” she said.

“I cried for hours afterwards, I was devastated, beside myself. I just couldn’t understand how someone could cheat on you like that.

“He fooled everyone, even my parents. He told them how much he loved me.”

The mother thought he only wanted a child with Maisie for show, while in Turkey he could continue to live out his true desires.

After the breakup, Maisie began dating a former boyfriend, with whom she later had a child. However, the couple later split.

The mother now works in the adult entertainment industry.
