I paid £525 for a ‘teacup chihuahua’ but he ended up being a bit bigger
SHE thought she had found the perfect dog when she saw the ad.
But a woman who spent £525 on a puppy dubbed a ‘teacup chihuahua’ was left stunned when the animal grew MUCH bigger than she expected.
She went to TikTok to share the situation, sharing videos of the adorable pet as a puppy and writing above it: “When you paid £525 ($700) for a ‘teacup chihuahua'”.
The video then changed to show the dog as he looks now: a large, skinny crossbreed that is certainly not the size of a teacup.
“I will never buy anything from Craigslist again,” she captioned the video.
Teacup Chihuahuas are actually very small dogs, some weighing as little as 1 pound.
People went into hysterics over the video and reacted in the comments.
“Teacup turned into a Stanley in no time,” someone hilariously wrote.
“That 40oz!” joked another.
“We also bought a teacup chihuahua off of Craigslist and it turned out to be a rat terrier, lol!” someone else commented.
“Still, I loved her and she lived another 15 years.”
That person added in response to another comment: “She was the best girl!
“Just a little too big for my Juicy Couture pet carrier that I bought for her 25 years ago and which was all the rage!”
“I would never do that for $700,” laughed someone else.
“BUT I bought a Boxer on Craigslist for $50 and it’s a Pitbull!”
“Oh my god, the same thing happened to me. I bought a teacup Chihuahua off Craigslist and now she’s a 15 pound rotisserie pan sized dog,” sighed another.
“Girl, we must have bought from the same seller because mine is half Great Dane!” said someone else.
“I bought a teacup chihuahua in a mall parking lot 11 years ago for $200… now she weighs 5 pounds!” revealed another.
