I prefer a lip mask dupe that is half the price of Laneige – my lips are fuller
DRY lips are a thing of the past for one beauty fan who found the perfect dupe for an expensive cult favorite.
Her lip mask costs half as much as Laneige, but still makes her lips look fuller.
A Redditor said her lip mask “dupe” from Elf outperforms “the OG” in a message on the platform.
“Laneige feels like Vaseline on my lips, compared to the ‘Holy Hydration’ lip mask,” she enthused.
“And there’s a little spatula included too. [It] “It smells a little bit like grapes, but it’s very subtle.”
Beauty influencers praise Laneige for its hydrating properties, which has given the product cult status.
SOFT KISS
The Redditor raved about the lip mask, saying it would help her get a healthier mouth.
“My lips look a little fuller and flake a lot less,” she said.
“I normally have to avoid squalene, but this one really works for me.”
Several other Redditors noted that the Elf lip mask is better than the Laneige version.

“I think it’s a good dupe,” one person wrote.
“I never thought the Laneige was worth the $20, but the Elf feels hydrating and smoothing, and almost plumps up my skin overnight.
“I have both and I save the elf version to put on before I start my makeup.”
Another said they use an even cheaper product on their lips, which may not work for everyone.
“I used to use the Laneige lip mask, but I switched to Vaseline Lip Therapy in a small jar,” they said.
“It stays on all night, lasts for months, and costs about $2. I’ll never use anything else again.”
“Vaseline makes my lips flake like crazy so this was a better option for me,” the original poster replied.
THE DIFFERENCE
Elf uses hyaluronic acid, squalane and castor oil to promote hydration, anti-aging and retain moisture.
The Laneige lip mask contains antioxidants from the “Berry Fruit Complex” and moisture from murumuru seed and shea butter.
The Elf lip mask can be used both during the day and at night and can be combined with other lip products.
Laneige’s lip mask is advertised for overnight use, but many beauty influencers use it throughout the day for its moisture content and flattering shine.
“I’ve been using this for about a month now and I use it both day and night,” wrote one Sephora reviewer of the Laneige lip mask.
“I personally have chronically dry lips to the point where they crack and bleed. This has saved them, they look like normal lips every day.”
