In her viral videoTikTok user Lynsey (@elsey_22) explained to her followers how the garden was designed.

She said she bought the pool when it was rainy weather in the UK, which brought the price down to just £500.

After checking the Cost price websiteLynsey saw that the pool was now for sale for £630.

However, her discounted purchase will still cost her a lot more money in day-to-day operations.

“My water bill is going to be through the roof, I estimate £450. I know that’s a lot but I knew it was going to be expensive to build a pool of this size,” said Lynsey.

She added that it took days to fill the pool because she only used her garden hose.

However, Lynsey pointed out all the benefits of her setup, explaining that it could even save the family money in the long run.

“I think we don’t have to spend the entire summer vacation outside because we have the fun in our backyard. That way we save money,” she explains.

She also said that the fun the pool brought her children was worth it.

Lynsey described the backyard pool as a “most important memory” for her entire family.

Lynsey also shared that they planned to keep the pool open all year round and use a heater and gazebo during the winter months.

She explained that this would prevent water from being wasted after only two months of use in the summer.

To keep the water fresh, she invested in chlorine tablets and other chemicals, and joined a Facebook group for above-ground pools for more advice.

She joked that keeping up with the maintenance was like having a “part-time job.”

Lynsey said the pool package included pretty much everything she needed, including the ladder, sand filter, solar heater, cover and net.

Keep insects out of your pool this summer

One of the easiest ways to keep insects out of your pool is to cover it with a dark sheet (such as garbage bags) when you are not using the pool.

This can also help keep the water warm for children.

Insect traps around the pool can also be useful.

To keep insects away naturally, you can plant lavender, basil or mint, for example, as these plants hate the smell.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on the lineup in the comments.

“If I had a big enough garden I would do this too, it’s amazing! I struggle with the thought of my children not having fun memories like this,” wrote one impressed viewer.

“Three days at Thorpe Park or a swimming pool, I know what I want,” said a third follower.

“This is AWESOME!!! Put black garbage bags on the water when you’re not using it, it warms up faster. Happy summer,” wrote another TikToker.
