I refurbished my whitewashed living room for £18 with a B&Q buy – it saved me £400
A HOMEOWNER demonstrated the DIY project that took her living room to the next level.
She revealed that the budget project cost her just £18 in total to complete.
In her viral videoTikTok user Leah (@leahjamo) showed her followers every step of the process.
She told her audience that she used a DIY paneling kit to transform her white walls.
“On a personal note, you got the £18 paneling set from B&Q and saved £400,” said Leah.
The Cheshire Moldings MDF Wall Panel Set is currently available for the slightly reduced price of £16.97.
Leah pointed out that the DIY B&Q kit is designed to be secured without the need for nails or a hammer.
For her first step, she applied the glue to the back of the edge boards and placed them above her baseboard.
She made sure to use a level to make sure the paneling wasn’t crooked before attaching it to the wall.
While attaching the paneling to the space below her TV, she had to work around some electrical outlets.
This meant some measuring and cutting of the pre-cut wooden panels.
However, she was still able to quickly attach the edge of the panels to her wall.
She then attached the center panel pieces to each section after allowing the glue to dry for some time.
Leah showed her followers the end result, which saw her simple white new build wall elevated with a mid-length light brown panel.
Her followers shared their thoughts on the transformation in the comments section.
“I just paneled mine but have tried loads of shades, yours looks perfect!!” wrote one viewer.
“Honestly, I’m definitely influenced,” said another impressed TikTok user.
