I Regret the Crazy Name I Gave My Kid – People Think It’s Stranger Things
A father has revealed he regrets the name he gave his daughter and would be happy if she decides to change it.
He said that as a youngster he was a “self-absorbed hippie” who thought the name was “cool and unique.”
But now that he’s older, he regrets that name.
The father shared on Reddit: “My hippie baby mama and I named our child Eleven.
“This was before Stranger Things came out.
“We thought it was mystical, beautiful, cool and unique and we were annoying, self-absorbed hippies.”

The father said his daughter is now a teenager and still goes by the name Eleven, despite the fact that he always assumed she would want to change that.
He said his daughter joked that at least no one would ever forget her name.
Eleven is the name of the main character from the Netflix science fiction series Stranger Things.
In the series, the girl is called Eleven, because that is the number tattooed on her wrist when she is taken away from her family and forced to live in a laboratory where scientific experiments are performed on her.
Luckily, the father said his daughter loves Stranger Things, but he would have preferred a different name for her.
He said: “Sometimes I feel bad and I keep getting asked what’s up with her name.
“It’s something I regret now, but I also love my child, and her strange name is part of her story.
“But I won’t be mad if she starts calling herself Elle or something.”
The post was flooded with responses from users on social media and opinions about the name were divided.

Someone said, “Naming a child is not the same as creating a fictional character.
“It’s unfair to give a child a deliberately crazy name just because you want to provoke reactions from strangers.”
Another said, “Why would you give your child a name if you assume he or she will want to change it anyway?”
A third added: “I immediately thought of Stranger Things but I actually like the word.”
A fourth added: “Evelyn would be a really easy name change from Eleven. Literally just swap the L and V sounds.”
