Then her second cousin decided to check in to see if everything was okay.

“It felt so good to have a man who was sensitive and caring talking to me about this, that there were still good men in the world,” she added.

The pair continued to bond and as their relationship progressed, they met in person.

She drove two hours to see him and had a “great day” together, despite both being “shy people”.

A few drinks at his house later, she admitted that she felt “a little too comfortable with him” as they started dancing together and getting closer.

Eventually they ended up cuddling on the couch. “I didn’t think anything of it, I felt lonely and just wanted comfort,” she explained.

Then things went from bad to worse when he suggested she stay the night after falling asleep with him.

He took the guest room and she took his bedroom, claiming it was the warmer option of the two.

After 15 minutes she messaged him asking for a blanket, and things went from bad to worse.

“Then I invited him to bed,” she admitted.

“After a few seconds of awkwardness and silence, I asked him if it would be weird if we were joking. I think he said, ‘I don’t know,’ and he kind of shrugged his shoulders.

“But we leaned into each other and started kissing. Then it led to a lot more,” she added.

The affair didn’t end there, however, and they ended up ‘getting started again’ in the middle of the night and again in the morning.

“It was exciting. He did things to me that my ex could never achieve.

“It was an amazing pleasure that I had never felt from a man. He also made sure I was satisfied, my ex never did,” the woman revealed.

By the time breakfast came around, things started to get awkward, so she got ready to go home and decided to talk to him about what they were doing besides leaving.

“He said it had to be a one-time thing and I agreed because we are family and it shouldn’t happen again,” she explained.

And one awkward parting handshake later, it seemed to be over.

“I drove home and cried the whole way because I was so mad at myself for wanting him, I wanted more,” she admitted.

He’s definitely my type, so the cousins thing really worries me.

The woman eventually messaged him to thank him for a “nice evening” and explained that while they shouldn’t do it again, for her it was far from meaningless sex and that she “had no regrets” .

Days passed before he messaged again and the pair kept in touch, but according to the woman, things were never the same.

“I messaged him a few more times over the last few weeks, each time he replied with thanks and hoped I was doing well too, but it was pretty clear he didn’t want to talk anymore,” she said.

“The worst part of all this is that I miss him very much and I have no regrets. I do regret it because we are not the same and I wish we were the same as before we had sex.

“And on the other hand, I don’t regret it because it was really special for me.”

The cousin was the second person she had ever slept with, she explained, and the feeling of being wanted again after her breakup left her feeling confused.

“I had a better time with him that night than I had with my ex for years. He’s definitely my type, so the cousins thing is a real problem for me.

“I’m definitely not going to pursue anything with him, it feels too wrong simply because incest. But my heart hurts because I know this can’t be. I miss him,” she wrote, before asking for advice from fellow Reddit -users.
