Reddit user AC_Slaughter shared the beauty tip in a post.

“After years and years of trying everything, the answer was the drugstore product where it was $7 all the time,” she said.

“My face has been red for years.”

She explained that she “cringed” at the thought of the remedies she had been applying to her face all those years to help with her redness.

“I’ve spent $1,000 in the last year and a half on expensive serums, lotions, [and] “Cica products were thought to be the holy grail for barrier repair,” she said.

“I saved up for a $115 serum for it, but in the end it did nothing for me.”

Despite her best efforts, she realised that she did not have basic knowledge about skin care and that this had worsened her skin condition.

“I had no idea what a skin barrier was and I also didn’t know that I had been destroying mine for YEARS,” she said.

“I thought I just had a red face because I’ve always suffered from acne.”

While the Redditor doesn’t suffer from rosacea or flushing, she explains that she’s committed “literally every skin care crime ever” in an attempt to get rid of her breakouts.

I really love a $13 dupe for a $29 skincare product – it’s been an absolute game changer for even out my skin tone

“I’ve been trying to repair it for months with barrier serums, Cicalfate, calendula ointment, prickly pear seed oil and ceramides,” she said.

“It didn’t really matter until I put on diaper cream last night and woke up with a peachy face for the first time in five years.”

After watching YouTube videos of dermatologist Dr. Idriss, she recovered better.

“Two nights ago I was watching a YouTube video of a dermatologist talking about how she applies Triple Paste diaper cream to herself, and it made perfect sense!” she said.

While the unconventional diaper rash cream wasn’t intended for the face, she explained that the dermatologist’s explanation made sense.

“The zinc, the beeswax, the lanolin, the cholesterol… Maybe this is it?” she said.

“I put it on for the first time last night and woke up this morning for the first time in six years without a red face.

“I did my routine and finished it off with the diaper cream. Not only did the redness disappear, but a huge pimple I had on my temple was a third smaller than yesterday. IN ONE DAY!”

“Now I feel like an idiot because I spent years and a lot of money in expensive boutiques and such to find my holy grail product. I ended up walking past it every time I went to the drugstore.”

During the day, she spritzes a facial mist with aloe vera water and applies a moisturizer with castor oil and sunscreen.

Her nightly routine, she said, consists of a gel cleanser, aloe water, a few drops of pear seed oil, a moisturizer and applying the $8 Triple Paste Diaper Rash Cream.

Others agreed that Dr. Idriss’s diaper rash cream and advice worked wonders for them.

“She is the best. Zinc on my face has single-handedly changed my skincare routine forever. I now have so much glycolic acid all over myself,” said one commenter.
