I spent $550 on skin care for my wife, my drugstore purchases achieve a similar effect
A SKINCARE expert shared the drugstore products that work just as well as luxury products, but are a lot cheaper.
After spending over $550 on cosmetics for their wife, they admitted that cheap brands can work just as well, depending on the ingredients.
Reddit user Entechad shared the beauty tips and recommendations in a post.
They explained that after spending more money than they wanted to on skin care, they learned that the best routine is an easy routine.
“You have to keep it simple. I just spent $550 on ZO Skin Health products for my wife because she likes it,” they said.
“So, was this necessary? Absolutely not. I know more about skin care than she does, but these different products are silky smooth and have certain textures that she likes.”
While their wives preferred expensive, more luxurious lines for cosmetic elegance, they came up with cheaper drugstore products that are “probably almost as effective.”
They recommended the $20 Vichy 89 Hyaluronic Acid Serum in combination with an oral hyaluronic acid supplement.
Supplements can greatly improve skin elasticity, they explained.
“Verisol collagen is clinically proven to be effective. There is Besha Inc. Powder and Trunature Healthy Skin Verisol capsules,” they said.

For sun protection, the Reddit user opted for the La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVmune sunscreen with SPF 50.
“This one isn’t just available in the US. It’s a European version and it’s much better for the skin,” they said.
The sunscreen is available for $31.25 at French pharmacy.
Other favorite supplements and antioxidants, they added, can go a long way toward reducing existing wrinkles and blemishes.
“Cocoa flavonoids such as cocoavia can reduce the depth of crow’s feet. Astaxanthin can help with eye wrinkles,” they added.
