A Thai singer told how he survived a plane crash in 1998 in which 101 passengers were killed while he was in Seat 11a – the same as the only survivor of the air India disaster.

Ruangenak Loychusak, 47, was on board Thai Airways Flight TG261 who traveled from Bangkok to Surat Thani when it got stuck and crashed into a swamp while it tried to land.

The tragedy left 101 of the 132 passengers and 14 crew members dead, while 45 were more injured.

Yesterday, Ruangsak said that he had ‘goosebumps’ when he saw that the only survivor of Air India’s crash in Ahmedabad was the British passenger Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, who was in chair 11a when his jet collapsed into a building.

“The only survivor of the plane crash in India was in the same seat number as I, 11a,” said Mr. Loychusak.

“I want to offer my participation to anyone who has lost loved ones in the tragedy.”

Although the singer no longer has his ticket from the doomed flight, he said that newspaper reports had recorded his seat number from that time.

Mr Ruangsak also described how he lived his ‘second life’ since he survived the devastating crash.

“I struggled to fly 10 years after the crash. I would struggle breathing, although the air circulation was normal, “he said.

‘I avoided talking to someone and always stared outside the window, and blocked everyone to close it to maintain my feeling of safety.

‘If I saw dark clouds or a rain shower outside, I would feel terrible, as if I was in hell.

‘I can still remember the sounds, scents and even the taste of the water in the swamp where the plane collapsed. For a long time I would keep the feelings for myself. ‘

Mr. Ramesh, who lives with his wife and child in London, is being treated in a hospital in the north -western city of Ahmedabad, where he told doctors that it started immediately after the plane had left, it started to fall and suddenly split into two before there was a loud explosion.

Dr. Dhaval Gameti, who investigated Mr. Rameh, told The Associated Press that he was disoriented with several injuries all over his body “but that he seems to be” out of danger. “

Speaking with the Indian Omroep Doorshan, Mr. Rameh said: ‘I don’t know how I got alive.

‘For a while I thought I was about to die. But when I opened my eyes, I saw that I lived. And I opened my seat belt and got away there, “added how two cabin crew members died in front of my eyes.”

His chair was placed right next to the emergency door, which he says it came off when the plane hit the ground.

Mr. Ramesh also described how only a few moments after taking off, it felt like the plane had got stuck. ‘

He remembered how the pilots tried to lift the jet, but it went at full speed and collapsed in the building ‘.

Mr. Ramesh explained how the plane quickly caught fire after the crash and said he burned his arm.
