A MAN has revealed he swapped his expensive London flat for a room in a tiny house in what he says is the best decision he’s ever made.
Si had been living in the capital for six years when he grew tired of paying £800 a month to live in a tiny room.
He was determined to live as cheaply as possible so he could get out of debt.
“I was paying an exorbitant amount of rent and it was a filthy, horrible place,” he said in a video posted to his YouTube channel @levenvansi.
To keep his expenses down, Si decided to spend £7,250 on a van.
He then rented a parking space in a church yard for £150 and set up shop there.

When he bought the bus, it had nothing in it. He put a mattress and a pillow in it and converted it into a house.
After Si got on the bus, his monthly costs dropped from £1,000 a month to £250 a month.
Si said the bus had no electricity or insulation and struggled in the winter, when temperatures sometimes dropped to -5 degrees.
“There was no heating or anything, I literally had candles for light,” he said.
With all the money Si saved on rent, he furnished his van, which is now much bigger than the small storage space he used to live in.
He added that he is happy that he no longer has to share the kitchen and bathroom with five roommates, as he did in his old apartment.
After 18 months of saving, he decided to quit his 9-to-5 job and now travels the world in his van.
“It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it,” he said as he relaxed in the Montenegro sun.
“I made a few sacrifices, and now I’m the king of the world.”
Si’s girlfriend also travels with him in the van and the couple makes YouTube videos to inspire others to get rid of the rat trap. race and do the same.
“I want to help people be free and happy and do what they want in life,” he said.
“This is what I did to get out of the rat race, you can do the same.”
