I tame my curls with a hydrating skin care product – my favorite is on sale for $8
A hair care fan shares the unconventional technique she uses to tame her curls.
She revealed that an inexpensive serum hydrates her hair and makes it less frizzy.
Reddit user Unfair_Finger5531 shared the hair care tip in a post.
She explained that she doesn’t throw away skin care products that don’t work for her, but uses them on her hair.
“I usually put them aside and try again later. Ninety-nine percent of the time it works the second time,” she said.
“I usually put the remaining 1% in my hair.”
The money-saving tip, she explained, led to an unexpected hair-care goldmine.
“I’ve found that Missha’s Red Algae essence is really great for my curly hair,” she said.
“I don’t know, some products are fine the second time around.”
Others were immediately impressed with her trick and demanded answers, especially since Missha’s Time Revolution Red Algae Treatment Essence is currently on sale for $7.60.

“What?! I need a lot more explanation on why Missha is amazing for curly hair,” one commenter said.
“How do you use/apply it? What does it do to your hair? It’s on sale right now for $7 so I’m curious!”
The Redditor encouraged skincare fans to run, not walk, to pick it up.
“You better buy it!!! For $7? That’s a steal,” she replied.
She explained that the “unintentional” trick made her realize that certain skin care products did wonders for her locks.
“I found that most toners and essences work well on my curly hair,” she said.
“I style my hair wet in the morning after my shower and one day I decided to just add a little toner to my leave-in product.”
She was shocked by the difference the watery toners made.
“My hair was so silky and my curls popped! The Missha is such a hydrating product.”
To nourish her locks, she applied the toner directly.
“I just pour it into my hand, rub it through my wet hair and it keeps my hair hydrated all day,” she said.
“I told my girlfriend about it and she started doing it too. Laneige Refiner works well for both of us too.
“I think it’s because they’re basically just hydrators. I also put Aestura 365 mist in my hair and [my] her hair loves ceramides. Get that essence!”
