I tested three under-eye concealers and one of them is sold in 44 different shades
DESPITE teens on TikTok suggesting they ditch concealer, if you’re over 25 and have trouble sleeping, you know the importance of covering up dark circles.
Here I test three concealers.
Budget
L’Oreal Paris True Match Radiant Serum concealer, £10.99 for 11ml, boots.nl.
I’ve long believed that L’Oréal Paris makes some of the best foundation products on the market, so this brand had to live up to a lot of demands.
It’s very lightweight, so it won’t feel heavy on the delicate under-eye skin and can be easily layered.
Please note that if you have dry skin, you should use a hydrating skincare product first. Otherwise, the pigment will remain on the rough areas and become extra visible.
The glossy finish makes the product quite sticky, so if you have oily skin you will need to set it with a powder.
Middle class
MAC Studio Radiance 24hr Luminous Lift Concealer, £26 for 9ml, maccosmetics.co.uk.
The first new concealer from Mac in years. I had high hopes for it and it does not disappoint.
The hard-working formula is packed with 31 skin-care ingredients, including niacinamide, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, which soothe skin and help it to become more radiant over time, while also providing instant hydration.
The formula is thicker than I thought, so you get decent coverage after just one swipe. Plus, the color comes in a whopping 44 shades, meaning almost everyone can find a perfect match.
Luxury
Rodial Glass concealer, £38 for 7g, looks fantastic.com.
A great option for anyone with pronounced shadows or discolorations.
It’s super brightening, very creamy, and easy to blend so you can build the coverage to your liking.
Even after a few layers, it doesn’t look clumpy or dry and it contains antioxidants and peptides that improve hydration and reduce lines and pigmentation in the long run.
Unfortunately, there are only five shades.
Choice of the week
SUMMER isn’t over yet, but if you’re considering purchasing a beauty advent calendar this year, you need to act now.
Waitlists for Liberty, Space NK and The Cult are already up on the brands’ websites, so add your name.
The Space NK calendar (left) costs £250, but contains £1,200 worth of products.
Liberty’s (£260, worth £1,295) and The Cult’s (£235, worth £1,100) are also good buys.
